Store Assistants

Shopify AI Sales Assistant

Shopify shoppers guided to the right product in the moment, with fewer abandoned carts and more finished orders.

Plenty of shoppers arrive ready to buy, then leave because they cannot decide or cannot find the right product. This assistant guides them in the moment, using your live Shopify catalog, stock levels and order history to suggest products that fit. It answers questions about sizing, materials and compatibility, and helps shoppers move from browsing to checkout.

  • Shoppers guided to products that fit their needs
  • Suggestions based on live catalog and stock levels
  • Sizing and product questions answered before checkout

What it is

Shopify AI Sales Assistant guides shoppers to the right product while they are still browsing, reading your live Shopify catalog, stock levels and past orders through the Shopify Admin API to make relevant suggestions instead of generic upsells. It runs on your storefront around the clock. It only suggests products that are in stock.

Why businesses buy it

Most store visitors leave without buying, and many of them had a question nobody answered. In a physical shop, a good assistant would help them choose. Online, they just close the tab. This assistant gives every shopper that guidance, around the clock, grounded in your real catalog. Revenue and conversion reporting shows what it contributes. The written scope sets out what it recommends, which policies it follows and how it hands off to your team.

Problems this solves

Shoppers browse, cannot decide, and leave without buying

Shopify AI Sales Assistant guides shoppers to the right product while they are still browsing. It reads your live catalog and past orders through the Shopify Admin API to make relevant suggestions.

Recommendation widgets push items that are out of stock

The assistant checks live stock levels before suggesting anything. It only suggests products that are in stock, so shoppers are not sent to a sold-out page.

Generic upsells ignore what a returning customer already owns

Past orders are part of what the assistant reads. A returning shopper can be shown something that complements a previous purchase, within approval rules set in up to six workflows.

A good fit if

Shoppers land on your Shopify store unsure which variant, size or bundle fits them, and abandon the browse before buying.
You want product suggestions grounded in your live Shopify stock and order history, not a fixed list of best-sellers.
You already have product catalog data and store policies ready to hand over for the assistant to work from.
You want a weekly view of which conversations turned into a Shopify order and which stalled out before checkout.

Not the right fit if

Most of your shopper traffic arrives after purchase with order or return questions rather than before it. See Shopify AI Support Agent built for post-purchase questions.
Your store runs on WooCommerce rather than Shopify. See WooCommerce AI Sales Assistant, which reads WooCommerce catalog and order objects instead of the Shopify Admin API.
You want recommendations sent by email after the visit, not a live conversation during it. See AI Recommendation Engine, which targets on-site and email recommendations from behavior and purchase history.
You need more than six workflows or two connected systems, for example separate flows for five product lines. Add a note at checkout for a Change Quote, or start from our Custom AI enquiry form.

How it works

  1. A shopper opens chat on a product page or during checkout, and the assistant reads their browsing context alongside their Shopify order history through the Shopify Admin API.
  2. It asks a short set of qualifying questions, such as size, use case or budget, the same way an attentive floor staffer would.
  3. It matches the answers against your live Shopify catalog and stock levels, so nothing out of stock or discontinued ever gets recommended.
  4. It surfaces the two or three products or bundles most likely to fit, with the reasoning stated in plain language, not a generic 'you might also like' list.
  5. Questions that fall outside product guidance, such as a return already in progress, are handed to the approver you named at intake.
  6. Revenue and conversion reporting rolls up weekly, showing which recommended products actually turned into a Shopify order.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Your Shopify Admin access, either a staff account or a private app with API credentials.
  • Your product catalog data, including variants, bundles and anything you want featured or avoided.
  • Your shipping, returns and refund policies, so the assistant can answer basic questions without breaking the sales flow.
  • The name of the person who approves pricing exceptions or bundle offers if you want any.
  • Admin access and API keys for every connected system, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email.
  • Your business information (company basics, hours and brand voice), shared during intake.
  • One decision-maker on your side who can sign off during the build.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can help undecided shoppers find a product that suits them.
  • Helps keep recommendations accurate as stock changes through the day.
Conversion rate for sessions with the assistant
Compare Shopify analytics conversion for sessions that used it with those that did not, over the same weeks.
Average order value
Compare Shopify's average order value for the four weeks before launch with the four weeks after.
Product questions sent to your team
Count pre-sale product emails or chats in your inbox before and after launch.

Before you start: Record your conversion rate and average order value from Shopify analytics. Note how many pre-sale questions your team answers each week.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build price is one-time. Running the assistant is billed to your own accounts, mostly AI model usage and light hosting: typically $50 to $250 a month, on top of whatever you already pay for your CRM or marketing platform.

AI usage during the build and test phase is billed the same way, so your Shopify account and your AI provider stay in your own name throughout.

Custom requirements

Want it wired into a loyalty program or a third connected system beyond the Scope Card? Add a note at checkout and we return a written Change Quote before any of that work begins. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.

Request a custom version

Keep it running

We recommend monthly maintenance, which covers monitoring, fixes and monthly change hours for things such as new bundles or a seasonal catalog refresh. The hours scale with the build, and bigger changes go through a Change Quote. Maintenance starts once the 30 days of included support end and can be cancelled in any month.

$249/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

What does the Shopify AI Sales Assistant cost?

Each delivery speed has one fixed price. The price panel shows standard, express and rush side by side before you pay, and the cart confirms your delivery date. Running costs of roughly $50 to $250 a month are separate and paid to your own providers.

What does the Shopify AI Sales Assistant cost to run each month?

Typically $50 to $250 a month, covering AI model usage and light hosting, billed directly to your own provider accounts. You also keep whatever CRM or marketing platform you already pay for. We charge nothing ongoing beyond optional monthly maintenance.

Will it recommend products that are out of stock?

No. It reads live stock levels through the Shopify Admin API before it recommends anything, so a sold-out variant is skipped in favor of an in-stock alternative. If nothing close is in stock, it says so rather than pushing a product a shopper cannot actually buy.

Does the Shopify AI Sales Assistant need my Shopify Admin access?

Yes. It reads catalog, stock and order records through the Shopify Admin API, so it needs either a staff account or a private app with API credentials. You can add our team as a staff user or create the app key yourself during intake, and remove that access at any time. Credentials are never sent by email.

Can it offer discounts to close a sale?

Only within limits you set. It can surface a bundle or an approved offer if you configure one, but any pricing exception outside your rules is routed to the approver you name during intake. Nothing outside your written approval rules happens automatically.

What happens once the Shopify AI Sales Assistant's 30 days of support end?

You can move to monthly maintenance, which includes monitoring, fixes and a monthly allowance of change hours. It is optional, bills monthly and can be cancelled in any month. Without it, the assistant keeps running; you simply lose included changes.

Do I own the assistant once it is live?

Yes. The configuration, workflows and product logic are built inside your own Shopify store and connected accounts, so nothing about the setup depends on us staying involved after the 30 days of support. Cancelling maintenance later does not remove or disable anything already live.
