Generative engine optimization: how to get cited by AI search
What generative engine optimization really is, what the research shows, and a step-by-step plan to get your pages cited by AI search.
Shopify shoppers guided to the right product in the moment, with fewer abandoned carts and more finished orders.
Plenty of shoppers arrive ready to buy, then leave because they cannot decide or cannot find the right product. This assistant guides them in the moment, using your live Shopify catalog, stock levels and order history to suggest products that fit. It answers questions about sizing, materials and compatibility, and helps shoppers move from browsing to checkout.

Shopify AI Sales Assistant guides shoppers to the right product while they are still browsing, reading your live Shopify catalog, stock levels and past orders through the Shopify Admin API to make relevant suggestions instead of generic upsells. It runs on your storefront around the clock. It only suggests products that are in stock.
Most store visitors leave without buying, and many of them had a question nobody answered. In a physical shop, a good assistant would help them choose. Online, they just close the tab. This assistant gives every shopper that guidance, around the clock, grounded in your real catalog. Revenue and conversion reporting shows what it contributes. The written scope sets out what it recommends, which policies it follows and how it hands off to your team.

The assistant checks live stock levels before suggesting anything. It only suggests products that are in stock, so shoppers are not sent to a sold-out page.
Past orders are part of what the assistant reads. A returning shopper can be shown something that complements a previous purchase, within approval rules set in up to six workflows.
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.
| Option | Delivery time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 20–30 working days | $3,900 |
| Express | 15–25 working days | $4,600 |
| Rush | 10–20 working days | $5,250 |
Before you start: Record your conversion rate and average order value from Shopify analytics. Note how many pre-sale questions your team answers each week.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
The build price is one-time. Running the assistant is billed to your own accounts, mostly AI model usage and light hosting: typically $50 to $250 a month, on top of whatever you already pay for your CRM or marketing platform.
AI usage during the build and test phase is billed the same way, so your Shopify account and your AI provider stay in your own name throughout.
Ask about running costsWant it wired into a loyalty program or a third connected system beyond the Scope Card? Add a note at checkout and we return a written Change Quote before any of that work begins. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.
Request a custom versionWe recommend monthly maintenance, which covers monitoring, fixes and monthly change hours for things such as new bundles or a seasonal catalog refresh. The hours scale with the build, and bigger changes go through a Change Quote. Maintenance starts once the 30 days of included support end and can be cancelled in any month.
$249/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)
Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.
How maintenance works| Do it yourself with a SaaS tool | Hire a custom agency | Upmark Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | An on-site quiz app charges a monthly fee tied to traffic volume | A custom agency quotes after several discovery calls | Ours is one fixed price, shown before you buy |
| Scope | A recommendation widget suggests from rules you configure by hand | An agency agrees scope during the project | Ours is written on the Scope Card before purchase |
| Product data | Most quiz apps do not read live stock before recommending | An agency build depends on what was agreed | Ours checks live Shopify stock before it suggests anything |
| Delivery | A quiz app installs in a day but still needs manual rules | An agency usually takes several weeks, set per project | Ours has a fixed delivery time shown before you buy, with faster options |
| Reporting | Most widgets report clicks, not finished Shopify orders | An agency build depends on what was agreed | Ours reports which conversations became a real order |
Each delivery speed has one fixed price. The price panel shows standard, express and rush side by side before you pay, and the cart confirms your delivery date. Running costs of roughly $50 to $250 a month are separate and paid to your own providers.
Typically $50 to $250 a month, covering AI model usage and light hosting, billed directly to your own provider accounts. You also keep whatever CRM or marketing platform you already pay for. We charge nothing ongoing beyond optional monthly maintenance.
No. It reads live stock levels through the Shopify Admin API before it recommends anything, so a sold-out variant is skipped in favor of an in-stock alternative. If nothing close is in stock, it says so rather than pushing a product a shopper cannot actually buy.
Yes. It reads catalog, stock and order records through the Shopify Admin API, so it needs either a staff account or a private app with API credentials. You can add our team as a staff user or create the app key yourself during intake, and remove that access at any time. Credentials are never sent by email.
Only within limits you set. It can surface a bundle or an approved offer if you configure one, but any pricing exception outside your rules is routed to the approver you name during intake. Nothing outside your written approval rules happens automatically.
You can move to monthly maintenance, which includes monitoring, fixes and a monthly allowance of change hours. It is optional, bills monthly and can be cancelled in any month. Without it, the assistant keeps running; you simply lose included changes.
Yes. The configuration, workflows and product logic are built inside your own Shopify store and connected accounts, so nothing about the setup depends on us staying involved after the 30 days of support. Cancelling maintenance later does not remove or disable anything already live.
