AI Website Personalization

The content shown, the layout emphasis and the calls to action adapt per visitor segment, across your whole site.

Most websites show the same page to a first-time visitor, a loyal customer and someone halfway through a decision. This build adapts content, layout emphasis and calls to action across your whole site by visitor segment and behavior. Your team can read and edit every rule, visitors without data see your normal site, and an A/B test shows what changed.

  • Site-wide content and calls to action matched to each segment
  • Rules your own team can read and edit
  • An A/B test that measures impact instead of assuming it

What it is

AI Website Personalization changes what a visitor sees across your entire site based on their segment and behavior: which content leads, which layout blocks get emphasis, and which call to action appears. Rules stay visible and editable by your team, and anyone without matching data still gets your default experience.

Why businesses buy it

A one-size site wastes traffic you already paid for. Returning customers wade past introductions, and new visitors see offers meant for someone else. This build uses the data you already hold to show each segment what matters to it, across the whole site. Because rules are visible and fallbacks are built in, nothing breaks when data is missing. The Scope Card fixes the channel, the connected systems and the workflows before you order, so the project has a clear edge and no open-ended consulting.

Problems this solves

Every visitor sees the same homepage, whatever brought them there

The system changes what leads on each page based on a visitor's segment and behavior. Content order, layout emphasis and the call to action shift to suit who is browsing.

Returning customers are pitched like strangers on every visit

Visitors your systems recognize can see content that fits where they are, rather than the first-visit pitch. Anyone without matching data still gets your default experience.

Personalization tools act like black boxes nobody can adjust

Rules stay visible and editable by your team, with up to six workflows under your approval rules. You can see why a visitor saw something and change it.

One call to action has to serve every type of visitor

The call to action changes by segment, so a first-time visitor and a ready buyer see different next steps. Your default remains in place for everyone else.

A good fit if

You want the whole site to adapt, not just one page, based on who is visiting and what they have done before.
You already have meaningful visitor or customer data in a tool such as Segment, HubSpot or Google Analytics 4.
You want the segment rules visible and editable by your own team, not buried inside a black-box algorithm.
You want to measure the impact with an A/B test rather than assume personalization is working.

Not the right fit if

You only need to personalize a handful of campaign landing pages, not the whole site. See AI Landing Page Personalization.
You want personalization coordinated across the full buying lifecycle, not just what the site shows on a visit. See AI Customer Journey Personalization.
Your personalization should be based on the visiting company for a B2B sale, not individual visitor segments. See AI B2B Account Personalization.
Your personalized pages get fewer than about 10,000 sessions a month, or you have no consent banner yet. Tests will not show a clear result, so start with the Personalization Quick-Start Sprint.
You need more than 2 connected systems or more than 6 workflows. Add a note at checkout for a quote, or start from our Custom AI enquiry form.

How it works

  1. Your segments and offers are defined. Visitor or customer data from Segment, HubSpot, Klaviyo or GA4 sets who counts as a first-time visitor, a returning customer, or something in between.
  2. Rules decide what changes where. Which hero message leads, which product category gets emphasis, and which call to action shows, all mapped per segment in rules you can read and edit.
  3. A visitor's segment is resolved in real time as the page loads, using whatever data is available for them at that moment.
  4. Matching content is shown. The right message, layout emphasis and call to action render for that segment, across the site, not on one isolated page.
  5. Missing data falls back safely. A visitor with no matching segment sees your default site experience, never a broken or blank one.
  6. Impact is measured. An A/B test is set up alongside the personalized experience, so you can see the difference it makes rather than assume it.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Access to the visitor or customer data source you want segments built from, such as Segment, HubSpot or GA4.
  • The segments and offers you want personalized, in plain terms your team already uses internally.
  • A working consent banner and privacy settings, so personalization only runs for visitors who agreed, on data you are allowed to use.
  • Enough traffic for measurable tests: about 10,000 or more sessions a month on the personalized pages.
  • Sample real visitor or customer records, so segment rules are built against your actual data, not guesses.
  • The name of the approver for any rule that changes what a whole segment of visitors sees.
  • Admin access and API keys for every connected system, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email.
  • One decision-maker who can approve the segment rules before they go live.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.

What you receive at handover

  • Site-wide personalization running on your website, driven by segment and behavior rules
  • Up to six workflows with your approval rules, visible and editable by your team
  • Read and write connections to up to two of your systems
  • A default experience for visitors without matching data
  • A test report covering the documented test scenarios

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Visitors can find content that fits them sooner.
  • Returning customers can see something more useful than the first-visit pitch.
  • Your team can adjust personalization without a developer.
Conversion rate by segment
In your analytics, compare conversion for each segment over four weeks before and four weeks after launch.
Engagement per visit
Compare pages per session and time on site for personalized visitors against default visitors.
Call-to-action clicks
Track CTA clicks per segment with event tracking, before and after launch.

Before you start: Record conversion, engagement and key CTA clicks by segment for at least four weeks before launch. Decide which segments matter most to you.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

Running this after launch costs roughly $50 to $250 a month, covering AI model usage and hosting, on top of whatever you already pay for Segment, HubSpot or your CMS. Cost tracks how much traffic gets personalized, not the number of segments you define.

AI usage during the build and testing period is billed the same way, directly in your own accounts, so nothing routes through us.

Custom requirements

Need personalization the Scope Card does not cover? Note it at checkout and a written Change Quote follows. That extra work waits for your yes, while your original order keeps its own delivery date. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.

Questions about this product

How much does AI Website Personalization cost to set up?

One fixed price covers site-wide personalization across up to two connected systems and up to six workflows, plus 50 documented test scenarios run against your real segments before launch. The panel on this page shows that price for each delivery speed, including faster options if your launch date cannot move, so you know the cost before you buy.

How long before the whole site is personalizing by segment?

Delivery time is fixed for each speed and shown in the panel on this page. It counts from the day your intake is complete and data access is verified. Most of the calendar time goes on gathering segment definitions and access to tools such as Segment, HubSpot or GA4, so having those ready keeps things moving.

What data does site-wide personalization need to work?

It needs a real source of visitor or customer data, such as Segment, HubSpot or Google Analytics 4, along with the segments and offers you want reflected. Sample records from that source are used to build and test the rules, so the build starts from your actual data rather than assumptions.

What happens to a visitor who does not match any segment?

They see your default site experience exactly as it exists today, never a blank, broken or half-personalized page. Fallback to default content is a built-in part of the build, not an edge case left for you to catch, so missing data never becomes a visible problem for a visitor.

What does AI Website Personalization cost to run every month?

Expect roughly $50 to $250 a month in AI model usage and hosting, on top of whatever you already pay for your CMS or data tools like Segment or HubSpot. That cost tracks how much traffic actually gets personalized, not how many segments or rules you have defined.

Can we add new segments once the site is live?

Yes, within the build the 2 rounds of revisions cover refining segments as you see real traffic against them. After launch, adding a new segment or adjusting an existing one as your business changes is exactly the kind of work monthly maintenance is built to handle. A brand-new customer segment your business did not have before is the kind of larger change a Change Quote covers instead.

Who owns the segment rules this build creates?

You do. Every segment definition, content rule and workflow built for your site belongs to you once delivered, the same as work from an in-house team would. We do not reuse your visitor data, your segment logic or your rule set for any other customer's site. That includes the right to export the rule set or move it to another provider at any point, with no ongoing license fee attached.

What if personalized content is not showing correctly after launch?

You have five working days after delivery to flag anything that does not match the Scope Card, and that gets fixed as part of the original build price, not a paid Change Quote. Past that window, further tuning of segments or rules runs through monthly maintenance instead. Most fixes at that stage are narrow adjustments to a single segment or rule, not a rebuild of the whole personalization setup.
