AI Employee FAQ
Answers common employee questions on benefits, leave and processes.
Employee questions on policy, benefits and process answered instantly, with sensitive requests routed to your HR team.
Your HR team answers the same questions every week: how much leave is left, when payroll runs, how to claim a benefit. This assistant answers them in Slack, Teams or on your intranet, using only the handbook and policies you approve. Anything sensitive, personal or unclear goes straight to a person on your HR team. Employees get quick answers, and HR gets its time back.

AI HR Assistant answers employee questions about your policies, benefits and internal processes from a channel your staff already use, such as a website widget, Slack or Microsoft Teams. It answers only from documents you approve, and hands off anything sensitive or unclear to a person. Every exchange is logged, so you see what employees ask.
Every repeated question that lands in the HR inbox pulls someone away from work only HR can do, like hiring, coaching and handling difficult conversations. Employees also wait for answers they could have had in seconds. This assistant handles the routine questions from your own documents and passes everything sensitive to a person, so trust in HR goes up rather than down. The Scope Card fixes the channel, the knowledge sources, the topics covered and the handoff route before you buy, so nothing about its behavior is left to chance.
Employees ask the assistant in Slack, Teams or a website widget and get answers from your approved documents. HR is left with the questions that need a person.
The assistant answers only from documents you approve. Everyone gets the same policy answer, and unclear or sensitive questions are handed off to a person.
You define which topics count as sensitive, and those go straight to a person through one agreed handoff route. The assistant does not attempt them.
Every exchange is logged, so you can see what employees ask and where documents fall short. That makes it easier to fix unclear policies at the source.
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.
| Option | Delivery time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 20–30 working days | $3,400 |
| Express | 15–25 working days | $4,000 |

Before you start: For two weeks before launch, log the routine questions HR answers and the time they take.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
The build price is one-time. Running it afterwards is billed in your own accounts and typically runs about $30 to $150 a month for AI model usage and hosting, depending on how many employees ask questions each month.
AI usage during the build and testing is also billed to your accounts, so you keep ownership of every provider relationship. Nothing runs through us.
Ask about running costsIf you need something outside the Scope Card, add a note at checkout. You get a written Change Quote, and that work only starts once you accept it. Your original order runs on its normal timeline either way. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.
Request a custom versionWe recommend monthly maintenance: monitoring, fixes and monthly hours for changes, which cover policy updates, seasonal FAQs and small routing tweaks. The change hours scale with the build. Maintenance starts after the 30 days of included support, bills monthly, and can be canceled any month.
$249/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)
Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.
How maintenance works| Do it yourself with a SaaS tool | Hire a custom agency | Upmark Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | An HR help-desk tool charges per employee seat every month | An HR consultancy bills hourly for policy questions | Ours is one fixed price, shown before you buy |
| Scope | A help-desk tool ships generic templates you have to rewrite | A consultancy's scope depends on the engagement agreed | Ours is written on the Scope Card before purchase |
| Delivery | A help-desk tool is live immediately but untrained on your policies | A consultancy usually takes weeks to document your policies | Ours has a fixed delivery time shown before you buy, with faster options |
| Sensitive questions | A help-desk tool answers everything it is asked, unless you configure limits yourself | A consultancy depends on who is available that day | Ours routes anything sensitive to your HR team by design |
The build is one fixed price, shown on this page before you buy, with express and rush delivery available at a set extra cost. Running it afterwards costs roughly $30 to $150 a month in AI usage and hosting, paid directly in your own accounts. Monthly maintenance is optional.
It escalates anything outside your approved documents, and anything you flag as sensitive during setup, such as leave-of-absence requests, disciplinary questions or disputes. Those go straight to the email or helpdesk you set up for handoff, along with the employee's original question, rather than receiving a guessed answer.
Yes. The assistant only stores the questions asked and the documents you approved for it to use. Admin access and system credentials are shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email, and you control what documents it can see. Sensitive personal information, such as medical details in a leave request, is routed to a person, not stored by the assistant.
Updating an existing policy or FAQ fits inside the monthly change hours that come with maintenance. A larger change, such as a new intent covering a whole new topic area, is quoted separately as a Change Quote before the work starts.
You choose one channel for this build: a website widget, Slack or Microsoft Teams. Each connects to the same knowledge base and handoff rules, so employees get consistent answers wherever they ask. A second channel is available afterward as an add-on if you need one.
Most HR teams spend one to two hours gathering policy documents, FAQs and escalation details inside the 72-hour intake window. After that, expect around an hour reviewing the 40 test questions we run, plus the 60-minute recorded handoff session before the assistant goes live.
No. The assistant answers questions and routes people to the right process or person; it never approves leave, resolves disputes or makes employment decisions. Those decisions always stay with your HR team, which is also why sensitive topics are routed to a person rather than answered automatically.
You can continue with monthly maintenance, or stop there with a fully working assistant and no ongoing commitment. Either way, the knowledge base, routing rules and handoff configuration remain yours and keep running as built. Maintenance covers monitoring, fixes and change hours for policy updates, seasonal FAQs and small routing tweaks, and bills monthly.
