AI Legal Operations Assistant
Handles routine legal-ops coordination and matter tracking.
Your firm's precedents, templates and playbook guidance become one place your team can ask, instead of asking a colleague.
Your firm's best answers already exist, scattered across precedents, templates and guidance notes on different drives. AI Legal Knowledge Base brings them into one place your team can ask in plain language, with every answer cited to the source. Permission groups control who sees what, and a monthly refresh keeps the base current as your guidance changes.

AI Legal Knowledge Base organizes your firm's own precedents, templates and playbook guidance into one searchable base, so a team member gets a cited answer instead of interrupting a colleague or re-researching a settled question. Permission groups control who sees what, and the base refreshes monthly.
When guidance lives in people's heads and old folders, juniors interrupt seniors, settled questions get researched again, and outdated templates slip back into use. That is costly in time and risky in quality. This build gives your team one cited source of the firm's approved thinking, so answers are consistent and easy to check. It is benchmarked on real questions before launch. The Scope Card fixes the document limit, sources, users and permission groups in writing, so you know exactly what goes into the base.
The knowledge base brings your firm's precedents, templates and playbook guidance into one searchable place. Up to three content sources and two thousand documents are covered.
Team members ask a question and get a cited answer from your own material. They can check the source before using it, instead of waiting for a colleague.
A monthly content refresh brings updated documents into the base. Answers point to the source, so it is clear which version they come from. Outdated material is easier to retire.
Up to three permission groups control who sees what. Access is set during setup for one interface, such as a web app, Slack or Teams.
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.
| Option | Delivery time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 20–30 working days | $7,900 |
| Express | 15–25 working days | $8,900 |
| Rush | 10–20 working days | $9,900 |
Before you start: Time ten common precedent lookups today and keep the list for a repeat test after launch.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
The build price is one-time. Running AI Legal Knowledge Base afterwards costs roughly $50–300/month, covering AI model usage, the vector database and hosting, billed directly in your own accounts and scaling with how much guidance you index and how often your team asks questions.
AI usage during the build and testing is also billed to your accounts, so you keep ownership of every provider relationship. Nothing runs through us.
Ask about running costsIf you need something outside the Scope Card, add a note at checkout. You get a written Change Quote, and that work only starts once you accept it. Your original order runs on its normal timeline either way. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.
Request a custom versionWe recommend monthly maintenance: monitoring, fixes, and monthly change hours, which cover adding a content source, updating a template or refreshing the benchmark set. Maintenance starts after the 30 days of support, bills monthly, and can be cancelled any month.
$395/mo (5% of the build price a month, includes 3 change hours)
Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.
How maintenance works| Do it yourself with a SaaS tool | Hire a custom agency | Upmark Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | An internal wiki tool bills per seat whether people actually search it or not | A knowledge-management consultant quotes after discovery calls | Ours is one fixed price, shown on this page before you buy |
| Scope | An internal wiki tool is a blank page you have to organize yourselves | An agency agrees scope during the project | Ours is written on the Scope Card before purchase |
| Answers | An internal wiki tool relies on someone finding and reading the right page | Depends on what was scoped | Ours answers the question directly and cites the source behind it |
| Accuracy check | An internal wiki tool has no benchmark, pages just get stale | Testing depends on what the agency scoped | Ours runs 60 benchmark questions first, with a written accuracy report |
The build is a one-time fixed price, shown in the price panel on this page next to each delivery speed, and it is confirmed with your Scope Card. It covers indexing your precedents and guidance, the content source connections, the permission groups, the monthly refresh and the accuracy benchmark run before launch. There is no charge from us per user or per question afterwards.
Knowledge Base holds your firm's own accumulated guidance, precedents and templates, used across many matters and answered from material the firm itself approved. Document Search answers questions from one specific document set you already hold, such as a client's contract library, with citations tied to that set alone. If you need both kinds of answer, they can run side by side.
No. It surfaces the firm's own precedents, templates and guidance with citations, it does not apply that guidance to your specific facts or tell you what to do. Anything the knowledge base can't answer is flagged rather than guessed at, and how any precedent is used on a live matter stays a lawyer's decision.
Roughly $50 to $300 a month in your own accounts, covering AI model usage, the vector database and hosting. The figure moves with how much guidance you index and how often your team asks questions, so a large firm with a deep precedent bank sits higher. We charge nothing per question, and monthly maintenance is optional.
The delivery time is fixed before you buy and shown in the delivery panel on this page, with faster speeds where offered. It starts once access to your content sources is verified and permission groups are agreed. Most of the build goes into indexing your firm's guidance and benchmarking answers against questions your team really asks, before your two review rounds.
It needs access to the content sources holding your precedents and guidance, such as your document management system, SharePoint or an internal wiki, plus workspace admin for sign-in setup and admin API keys for each connected system, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email.
Small changes, such as adjusting permission groups or refreshing the benchmark questions, fit inside the monthly change hours that come with maintenance. Adding a fourth content source beyond the three in scope is a bigger change and gets a written Change Quote first.
Order AI Legal Knowledge Base and your precedents, templates and guidance become cited, searchable answers on a fixed delivery date. The scope above is what you get, in writing, before you pay.
