AI Legal Operations Assistant
Handles routine legal-ops coordination and matter tracking.
Legal requests from across the business are captured in a structured format, sorted and routed to the right in-house lawyer.
Legal requests arrive by email, chat and corridor conversation, and the important ones can sit unread while the team works through everything else. AI Legal Intake captures each new request, structures the key details, sorts it by type and urgency and routes it to the right lawyer. Every request is logged in your matter system, and your team decides what happens next.

AI Legal Intake is built for in-house legal teams. It captures requests from colleagues across the business and structures the key details. Each one is routed to the right lawyer, so nothing sits unopened. Requests are sorted by type and urgency and logged in your matter system. Law firms taking new clients should see the AI Law Firm Intake Stack.
When intake is informal, lawyers spend time chasing missing details, urgent requests wait behind routine ones, and nobody can say how much work is coming in. This build gives every request the same front door. It collects the details your team needs, routes the request by your rules and logs it, so lawyers start with a complete picture. It is tested on realistic requests before launch. The Scope Card fixes the systems, workflow steps and the single AI decision step in writing, so the routing does exactly what you agreed.
The workflow captures new legal requests from colleagues as they come in and structures the key details. Each one is routed to the right person, so nothing waits unread.
Requests are sorted by type and urgency in one AI decision step. The team sees what needs attention first, within a workflow of up to 12 steps.
Structured details are logged in your matter management system. The workflow runs in the background and connects up to three systems. Nobody has to copy details across from email by hand.
Because every request is logged and routed, there is a record of who received it. That makes it easier to follow up before a matter formally opens.
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.
| Option | Delivery time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 20–30 working days | $2,900 |
| Express | 15–25 working days | $3,400 |
| Rush | 10–20 working days | $3,900 |
Before you start: Record how long requests wait before someone picks them up, and how many reach the matter system today.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
The build price is one-time. Running AI Legal Intake afterwards costs roughly $20–100/month, covering the automation platform plus AI model usage, billed directly in your own accounts and scaling with how many requests come through each month.
AI usage during the build and testing is also billed to your accounts, so you keep ownership of every provider relationship. Nothing runs through us.
Ask about running costsIf you need something outside the Scope Card, add a note at checkout. You get a written Change Quote, and that work only starts once you accept it. Your original order runs on its normal timeline either way. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.
Request a custom versionWe recommend monthly maintenance: monitoring, fixes, and monthly change hours, which cover small adjustments to routing rules or the acknowledgment draft. Maintenance starts after the 30 days of support, bills monthly, and can be cancelled any month.
$249/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)
Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.
How maintenance works| Do it yourself with a SaaS tool | Hire a custom agency | Upmark Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | An intake form tool bills monthly per user whether matters come in or not | An ops consultant charges for a one-off process mapping project | Ours is one fixed price, shown on this page before you buy |
| Scope | An intake form tool is a generic form builder you configure yourself | Scope is agreed during the engagement | Ours is written on the Scope Card before purchase |
| Routing | An intake form tool usually just emails the form to one inbox | Routing logic depends on what was scoped | Ours routes and flags conflicts by the rules you set |
| Delivery | Sign-up is instant, building real routing logic is not | Typically several weeks before work even begins | Ours has a fixed delivery time shown before you buy, with faster options |
The build is a one-time fixed price, shown in the price panel on this page next to each delivery speed, and it is confirmed with your Scope Card. It covers the intake workflow, the routing rules, the AI step that structures each request, connections to your systems and the test runs completed before launch. There is no charge from us per request afterwards.
Legal Intake handles the very first step, capturing and structuring a new matter or client request before anything else happens. Legal Operations Assistant works after a matter already exists, coordinating ongoing tasks like vendor questions, billing checks and status updates across up to six workflows. If you run both, Intake can feed the Assistant.
No. It structures the request and flags conflict-check information for a person to review, it does not accept, decline or evaluate a matter on its own. Anything outside your defined rules routes to the person you named, and the decision to open or refuse a matter always stays with your team, not the workflow.
Roughly $20 to $100 a month in your own accounts, covering the automation platform plus AI model usage. The figure scales with how many requests come through, so a team handling a steady daily flow sits toward the top of that range. We charge nothing per request, and monthly maintenance is optional if you want routing changes made for you.
The delivery time is fixed before you buy and shown in the delivery panel on this page, with faster speeds where offered. It starts once your request types, routing rules and system access are in. Most of the build goes into building the routing logic and running test requests through it, so every type of matter lands with the right person at launch.
It needs admin or API access to each system in your intake path, such as your inbox, web form tool and matter management system, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email. You also provide a written description or screen recording of today's process and 5 to 10 real sample requests.
Yes. Small adjustments to routing or the acknowledgment draft fit inside the monthly change hours that come with maintenance. Adding a second workflow or a new AI decision step beyond what's in scope is a bigger change and gets a written Change Quote first.
Order AI Legal Intake and every new matter is captured, structured and routed on a fixed delivery date. The scope above is what you get, in writing, before you pay.
