AI Accounts Payable Agent for Tally
Purchase bills approved before they reach Tally, posted as vouchers to the right ledgers, and paid only in runs you release.
In many Tally offices, supplier invoices pile up as paper and email until someone keys them in after a quick verbal okay. Errors then have to be corrected inside the books. This agent turns that around: each bill is matched and approved by the right person first, then posted to Tally as a voucher against the right ledger, and payment runs wait for a person to release them.
- Bills approved by the right person before any voucher is posted
- Vouchers posted to existing party ledgers, keeping masters clean
- Runs on your own network through Tally's XML/ODBC interface

What it is
AI Accounts Payable Agent for Tally runs supplier invoice intake, matching and approval routing, then writes the results into your Tally company through its XML/ODBC interface. It reads ledgers and masters, posts approved bills as vouchers, and prepares payment runs that a person releases. It works on your own network. Nothing is posted before approval.
Why businesses buy it
Posting first and approving later means your Tally books carry entries nobody signed off, and corrections pile up at audit and tax time. Informal approvals also make it hard to prove who agreed to a payment. After this build, every supplier bill is approved before it becomes a voucher, and every payment run is released by a person. Your accounts team spends its time on exceptions, not typing. The Scope Card lists the workflows, ledgers and rules before you order, so your accountant can review the setup in advance.
Problems this solves
Approved bills are re-keyed into Tally after sign-off
Once a bill is approved, the agent posts it as a voucher in your Tally company through the XML/ODBC interface. Nobody has to key it in a second time.
Unapproved purchases end up posted in the books
Nothing is posted before approval. Each invoice goes through intake, matching and approval routing first, using your rules across up to six workflows. Only then does a voucher reach your ledgers.
Payment runs are prepared from scattered notes and spreadsheets
The agent reads ledgers and masters in Tally and prepares payment runs from approved bills. A person releases each run, and it all works on your own network.

How it works
- Access to Tally is arranged on your own network. On a 30-minute call your Tally administrator confirms the server, and we document how bills map to vouchers, ledgers and masters through the XML/ODBC interface.
- Supplier invoices come in through one channel. The agent reads ledger masters to identify the supplier and checks existing vouchers, so an invoice already booked is caught.
- Approval happens first. Each bill goes to the approver your limits name, by amount or supplier, and waits until it is approved, rejected or queried.
- Approved bills are posted to Tally as vouchers against the agreed ledgers. Rejected or unmatched ones stay out of the books, in an exceptions queue.
- Bills falling due are gathered into a proposed payment run. After a named person releases it, the payments are recorded in Tally as vouchers too.

Expected benefits and how to measure them
- Can remove double entry between approval and posting.
- Helps make sure only approved purchases reach your ledgers.
- Vouchers keyed by hand
- Compare purchase vouchers entered manually in Tally per month, before launch and after.
- Posted without approval
- Check a monthly sample of posted vouchers for a recorded approval, before and after launch.
- Time to prepare a payment run
- Time how long each run takes to prepare, before launch and after.
Before you start: Note how many approved bills are re-keyed into Tally each month and how long a payment run takes to prepare.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
Running costs
You pay for the build once. Ongoing AI model usage and hosting cost roughly $50 to $250 a month, in your own accounts. Because the agent reaches Tally on your network, the machine running Tally needs to be on and reachable for postings to go through. Tally licenses and upgrades are not included.
This build follows your rules and does not provide regulated financial, tax or investment advice.

Several Tally companies, custom Tally objects, or more than six workflows need a written Change Quote. Add a note at checkout and we send it to you.

Questions about this product
How does AI Accounts Payable Agent for Tally connect to our books?
Through Tally's XML/ODBC interface, on your own network. Your administrator arranges server access during a 30-minute setup call, and we document which vouchers, ledgers and masters the agent reads and writes. Your data stays in your Tally company, and custom Tally objects outside that mapping are not included.
Are bills posted to Tally before or after approval?
After. Each supplier invoice is routed to the approver your limits name, and only an approved bill is posted as a voucher against the agreed ledgers. Rejected, queried or unmatched invoices stay out of Tally, waiting in an exceptions queue for a person to decide what happens next.
Can the Tally payables agent pay a supplier who has no ledger yet?
No. Without a matching ledger master the invoice cannot be approved or posted, so it is held for review. Your team adds the ledger in Tally, the invoice continues through approval, and only then can it join a payment run. The agent never creates a ledger on its own.
What makes the Tally payables edition different from the core agent?
It is built on the core AI Accounts Payable Agent with a Tally connection added. That covers the XML/ODBC link on your network, the voucher and ledger mapping, and testing against your own Tally setup. The extra configuration is already part of this edition's fixed price and timeline, which are shown on this page before you order.
Does the Tally agent make supplier payments itself?
No money moves on the agent's say-so. It proposes a payment run from approved bills that are due, and a named person releases it. Once released, the payments are recorded in Tally as vouchers on the agreed mapping, so your ledgers reflect what your team actually paid.
Can we trial the Tally payables agent on test data first?
Yes, that is how testing works. The 50 documented scenarios run against test records in Tally, covering duplicates, unknown parties, approval limits and payment runs. You review the results and get two rounds of changes before the agent posts anything in your live books.
Approve first, then post to Tally.
Order AI Accounts Payable Agent for Tally and supplier bills are approved by the right person before they become Tally vouchers, with payment runs waiting for a person to release.
