AI Price Monitoring for Ecommerce & D2C

Competitor and marketplace prices on your hero products tracked against your own store price, with an alert when one moves.

In Ecommerce & D2C, a rival's flash sale or a marketplace seller undercutting your hero product can quietly drain sales before anyone notices. This edition tracks competitor and marketplace prices on up to 25 listings and sets each one beside your own Shopify or WooCommerce price. Alerts and a regular brief show where you stand, and your team still sets every price.

  • Rival prices shown next to your own store price
  • Sale prices on competitor listings caught and alerted
  • Briefs for merchandising in Slack, email or Notion

What it is

AI Price Monitoring for Ecommerce & D2C tracks the prices competitors and marketplace sellers show for products you also sell, up to 25 listings, and sets each one beside your own Shopify or WooCommerce price. A daily or weekly brief and change alerts go to email, Slack or Notion.

Why businesses buy it

For a D2C brand, price gaps open fast. A competitor runs a promotion, a marketplace reseller cuts below your price, and your ads keep paying to send shoppers to a page where you now look expensive. Spotting that by hand across stores and marketplaces is not realistic. This edition maps each tracked listing to your own product, so every alert answers one question: are we still competitive? The Scope Card fixes the listings, connected store and channel before you order, so nothing is vague.

Problems this solves

Marketplace sellers undercut your listings and you find out from falling sales

Up to twenty-five competitor and marketplace listings for products you also sell are tracked. An alert goes out when a seller changes price, on the next scheduled check.

Your Shopify prices and competitor prices sit in separate tabs

The ecommerce price comparison template sets each tracked listing beside your own Shopify or WooCommerce price. The brief shows the gap for every product in one view.

Rival brands' promotions catch the merchandising team off guard

Daily or weekly briefs show which competitor prices dropped or rose since the last check. Merchandisers can plan their own offers with sight of what rivals are running.

Nobody can tell whether a discount kept you competitive

Each tracked listing keeps a price history next to yours. After a sale, you can look back at how your price sat against competitors through the whole period.

A good fit if

Your highest-revenue products are also sold by competitors or resellers on their own sites and marketplaces, and price is a reason shoppers switch.
You find out a rival ran a sale only when your conversion rate dips or a customer emails asking you to match it.
Your store runs on Shopify or WooCommerce and you want competitor prices shown next to your own, not in a separate spreadsheet.
A short list of hero products, up to 25 listings, matters far more than tracking your whole catalog.

Not the right fit if

You want price change recommendations based on your margin and stock, not just alerts. See AI Ecommerce Pricing Assistant.
You want competitors' new products and launches tracked as well as prices. See AI Competitor Product Intelligence.
You want proposed price changes prepared for review across a wider market. See AI Pricing Intelligence Agent.
You need hundreds of SKUs tracked. This build covers 25 listings; add a note at checkout for a Change Quote.

How it works

  1. You name up to 25 listings: competitor product pages, marketplace listings and reseller pages for the products you care about most.
  2. Your Shopify or WooCommerce store is connected as one of two systems, so each tracked listing is paired with your own product and current price.
  3. Each listing is checked daily or weekly, and the price shown on the page is logged into a running history, including sale prices displayed on the page.
  4. The Ecommerce & D2C workflow template frames the brief around shopper decisions: where you are now the more expensive option, and where a rival's sale has ended.
  5. A change alert fires when a tracked price moves, giving the old price, new price, percentage change, your own price and a link to the listing.
  6. Brief and alerts go to one channel, email, Slack or Notion, after two trial report cycles reviewed with you.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • The competitor, marketplace and reseller listings to track, up to 25, each mapped to your own product.
  • Access to your Shopify or WooCommerce store so your own prices can be read.
  • The questions the brief must answer, such as which gaps above a set percentage matter.
  • Whether you want a daily or weekly brief, and who receives alerts.
  • Access to the delivery channel, plus admin access and API keys shared securely, never by email.
  • Your business information and one decision-maker to approve the tracked list.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can help merchandisers set prices with current market information.
  • Makes it easier to see where you are undercut or priced above rivals.
  • Helps reduce time spent checking marketplaces by hand.
Tracked products inside your target price range
Count them weekly from the comparison template. Watch whether the count holds steady or improves.
Conversion rate on tracked products
Use Shopify or WooCommerce analytics for those products. Compare the two months before launch with the two after.
Time to respond to a competitor price drop
Compare each alert date with the date your price changed in your store admin.

Before you start: Export current prices and recent conversion rates for the products you will track. Note how often marketplaces are checked by hand today.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build is $4,400, paid once. Running it costs roughly $20 to $120 a month for AI usage and the web data or search APIs the price checks use, billed in your own accounts. Daily checks on all 25 listings sit higher in that range than weekly ones.

Your Shopify or WooCommerce plan is unchanged, and AI usage during build and testing is billed to your accounts too.

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

Can AI Price Monitoring for Ecommerce & D2C compare competitor prices with our Shopify prices?

Yes. Your Shopify or WooCommerce store is connected as one of the two systems, and each tracked competitor listing is mapped to your own product at intake. Every alert and brief then shows the rival's price next to yours, so you can see straight away whether you are now the cheaper or the more expensive option.

Does it pick up competitor sale prices?

It records the price displayed on the listing when each check runs, so a sale price shown on the page is captured and alerted like any other change. Discounts that only appear at checkout or through a code sent to a mailing list are not visible on the page, so they are not tracked.

Which 25 listings should a D2C brand track first?

Usually the products that drive most revenue and are sold elsewhere: your hero products on rival brand sites, the same items on marketplaces, and any authorized resellers. Brands often split the 25 between three to five competitors. Swapping listings later fits inside the monthly change hours of maintenance.

Will it change our store prices automatically?

No. It reads your store's prices but never changes them. Decisions stay with your team, using the alerts and brief. If you want suggested price changes based on margin and stock, see AI Ecommerce Pricing Assistant; automatic changes to your store would need a Change Quote.

What does the Ecommerce & D2C price monitoring edition cost with rush delivery?

Every delivery speed, including rush where it is offered, has its price shown in the panel on this page, and each covers the same Scope Card. Choosing a faster speed changes the date, not the build. Running costs of roughly $20 to $120 a month for AI usage and web data are billed to your own accounts.

Can the merchandising team get alerts in Slack?

Yes, if Slack is the one delivery channel you choose. The recurring brief and every change alert land in the channel you name, with links back to each listing. If you also want the brief stored in Notion, a second destination would come through a Change Quote.
