AI Operations Assistant for Manufacturing
Production schedule requests, downtime, supplier chases and shift handovers tracked in one place, so nothing is lost between shifts.
On a plant floor, the same requests come up every shift: can this job move up the schedule, when is line two back, has the resin supplier confirmed, what happened overnight. This edition gives supervisors and planners one place to raise and track them. It logs schedule requests for the planner, tracks maintenance and downtime, chases suppliers and writes the shift handover brief. Exceptions go to a named approver.
- Schedule change requests logged and routed to the planner
- Breakdowns and downtime tracked until maintenance closes the job
- A shift handover brief ready for every incoming supervisor

What it is
AI Operations Assistant for Manufacturing is an internal assistant for plant managers, supervisors and planners. It takes production scheduling requests, logs maintenance and downtime, follows up with suppliers on late materials and prepares shift handover briefs, all on one channel. It reads from your ERP exports and procedures, and sends anything outside your rules to an approver.
Why businesses buy it
Most plant problems are not dramatic. A schedule change is agreed in the corridor and never recorded. A machine fault is reported to one shift and forgotten by the next. A supplier misses a confirmation and nobody chases it until the line is short. Supervisors spend the start of every shift rebuilding what happened. This edition records requests as they happen, follows up on the ones that stall and hands each shift a clear brief. Planners and approvers stay in control of every decision that matters. The Scope Card fixes what is built before you order.
Problems this solves
Planners field scheduling requests from every direction
Production scheduling requests come into one channel and are handled using your manufacturing workflow template. Anything outside your rules goes to a named approver instead of being guessed at.
Downtime and maintenance are logged inconsistently or not at all
The assistant logs maintenance and downtime as supervisors report it on the channel. Records follow the same format each time, so they are ready for weekly review.
Late materials surprise the line on the morning they are needed
The assistant follows up with suppliers on late materials, reading from your ERP exports. Planners hear about gaps earlier and can adjust the production schedule in good time.
Shift handovers lose details between supervisors
The assistant prepares shift handover briefs from the day's logged activity. The incoming shift starts with the same picture as the team that is leaving.

How it works
- Supervisors and planners raise requests on one channel, such as Microsoft Teams or email: a schedule change, a breakdown, a late material or a handover note.
- Schedule requests are checked against your ERP exports and rules. Changes that affect the schedule go to the planner for a decision.
- Breakdowns are logged with the line, the time it stopped and the maintenance owner, then followed up until the line is running and the job is closed.
- When a supplier confirmation or delivery is late, follow-ups go out on your rules and replies are recorded against the order.
- At each shift change, the incoming supervisor gets a handover brief: open faults, downtime, schedule changes, supplier issues and pending approvals.
- Before launch, 50 scenarios drawn from your own plant requests are tested and the results are shared with you.
What you provide within 72 hours
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.
- Admin or API access to your ERP exports or API and your document storage, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email
- Your rules for schedule changes, including who approves what
- Current procedures, maintenance contacts and escalation steps for breakdowns
- Your supplier list with contacts and the follow-up rules you want used
- Shift patterns and the recipients for each handover brief
- Ten real requests from your plant, such as fault reports or schedule change emails
- One decision-maker for sign-off
- An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.

What you receive at handover
- AI Operations Assistant for Manufacturing configured on one internal channel
- Manufacturing request types and workflow templates, with up to six workflows on your approval rules
- Read and write connection to up to two agreed systems, plus your ERP exports and procedures
- Test report using manufacturing scenarios across 50 documented test cases
- Admin guide and a recorded handoff session
- 30 days of post-launch support
Expected benefits and how to measure them
- Can give planners and supervisors time back each shift
- Helps keep downtime records complete
- Makes shift handovers more consistent
- Downtime events logged with a cause
- Compare complete downtime records per month before and after launch.
- Production delays from late materials
- Count schedule changes caused by late materials each month, before and after launch.
- Handover issues raised by the next shift
- Ask supervisors to note missing handover details for two weeks before launch and two weeks after.
Before you start: Record a month of downtime logs, late-material delays and handover problems before launch.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
Running costs
The build is paid once. To run it, expect roughly $50 to $250 a month in AI model usage and hosting, billed in your own accounts on top of your ERP, document storage and Microsoft or Google plans.
Usage while building and testing is billed to your accounts as well, so no provider sits between you and your data.

A third system such as an MES or a maintenance management system, a second channel, or more than one site with different procedures needs a Change Quote. Add a note at checkout for a written quote.

Optional monthly maintenance covers monitoring, fixes and monthly change hours, for revised procedures, new lines, new suppliers or changed shift patterns. It starts after the 30 days of support.

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product
Does it change the production schedule by itself?
Not by default. Schedule change requests are recorded with the job, the reason and who asked, then checked against your ERP exports and sent to the planner, who decides. If you later want small, rule-based changes written back automatically, that can be added as one of your approval rules, so a person still sets the limits.
How are breakdowns and downtime recorded?
A supervisor or operator reports the fault on the channel with the line or machine. The assistant logs the start time, notifies the maintenance owner on your contact list and follows up until the job is closed and the line is running again. Downtime records stay in your connected system, so you can review them later.
What does a shift handover brief contain?
Each brief covers the shift that just ended: open faults and downtime, schedule changes requested or approved, supplier issues still open and anything waiting for an approver. It is built from what was logged during the shift, so the outgoing supervisor does not write it from memory. You choose the recipients and the timing for each shift.
How does it follow up with suppliers on late materials?
You set the rules during intake, for example chase a missing order confirmation after a set number of hours, or ask for a revised date when a delivery slips. Follow-ups go by email from an address you control, and replies are recorded against the order. New suppliers, price changes or anything outside the rules go to a buyer or manager first.
Which manufacturing systems does it connect to?
Up to two systems with read and write access are included. Plants usually choose their ERP, through exports or an API, and their document storage. Microsoft Teams or email is the channel for the team. A third system, such as an MES or a maintenance management system, needs a Change Quote, which you get in writing before any work starts.
Can it handle more than one shift pattern?
Yes. Shift times and handover recipients are part of the setup, so a plant running two or three shifts gets a brief at each change. Weekend and rotating patterns work the same way, as long as they are written down. A second site with its own procedures and approvers needs a Change Quote.
What do plant managers need to prepare for intake?
Mostly documents you already keep: procedures, maintenance contacts, supplier lists, shift patterns and ten real requests such as fault reports or schedule emails. Everything is due within 72 hours of the order. After that, plan about an hour to review the test results with your planner and a supervisor, plus the recorded sixty-minute handoff session.
Start every shift knowing what the last one left open.
Order AI Operations Assistant for Manufacturing and on a fixed delivery date schedule requests, downtime, supplier chases and shift handovers are tracked in one place for your plant team.
