AI Legal Intake
For in-house legal teams: captures and triages incoming legal requests from the business.
Lawyers stop fielding where-is-it and what-is-the-status questions, because the hub answers from your matter files with a citation.
Legal teams lose hours every week to the same questions: how to raise a request, which template applies, where a matter stands, when a date falls. This hub answers them from your matter records and legal-ops guidance, with a citation every time. It never gives legal advice, privileged files stay with the legal team, and your lawyers decide what the wider business can see.

AI Company Knowledge Hub for Legal Operations is a cited Q&A assistant over your matter records, document management files and legal-ops guidance, with workflows for matter intake, document triage, status updates and deadline tracking. It points people to sources and never gives legal advice. Privileged files stay with the legal team.
In-house lawyers are expensive to interrupt, yet much of their inbox is status checks and where-do-I-find-it questions. Each one pulls attention from contracts, disputes and advice that only they can give. This hub handles those routine questions with cited answers from your own records, so requests arrive complete and nobody chases a matter owner for a date. Because the Scope Card fixes the sources, permission groups and benchmark testing before you order, legal and IT can approve it knowing exactly what it will and will not touch.
The hub is a cited Q&A assistant over your legal-ops guidance and document files. It points people to the right playbook or precedent and never gives legal advice.
Workflows for status updates and deadline tracking draw on your matter records. Staff can check where a matter stands or when a deadline falls, without emailing the fee earner.
Permission groups keep privileged files with the legal team. The Legal Operations content source map records which sources each group can see. Benchmark questions test these limits before launch.
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.
| Option | Delivery time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 20–30 working days | $12,400 |
| Express | 15–25 working days | $13,650 |
| Rush | 10–20 working days | $14,900 |
Before you start: List the playbooks and precedent stores in scope. Tally status questions and time a sample of precedent searches.
These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.
You pay for the build once. Running costs land in your own accounts at roughly $50 to $300 a month, covering AI model usage, the vector database and hosting; the figure tracks how many documents are indexed and how often people ask. Matter management and document management licenses stay as they are.
AI usage during build and testing is also charged to your own accounts, never routed through us.

How maintenance works| Do it yourself with a SaaS tool | Hire a custom agency | Upmark Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | A legal knowledge tool usually bills per user each month | A legal-tech consultancy quotes after scoping your matter data | Ours is one fixed price, shown before you buy |
| Legal advice | A general chat tool has no boundary set for your team | Depends on the guardrails agreed in the project | Ours gives no legal advice; outputs are for lawyer review |
| Matter status | Staff still open the matter system and search by hand | A custom build covers whatever was scoped | Ours answers status and deadline questions with the record cited |
| Delivery | Quick to sign up, slow to organize around your matters | Usually several weeks of discovery | Ours has a fixed delivery time shown before you buy, with faster options |
No. Legal advice is outside this build, and its outputs are for review by qualified lawyers. It answers process and record questions, such as how to submit a request, which template applies or where a matter stands, each with a citation. A question asking whether a clause is acceptable, or what the business should do legally, is declined.
Yes, as one of the 3 content sources, through the system's API or an export, depending on what your matter management system offers. Matter records are indexed with their permission group, so status and deadline answers cite the record they came from. If your system offers neither an API nor an export, raise it at intake so the route can be confirmed first.
Through up to 3 permission groups set before launch, for example legal team, legal operations and business requesters. Retrieval applies the group on every question, so a requester outside the legal team never receives a passage from a restricted matter file. You define the groups at intake and approve them before go-live.
It answers questions about dates held in your connected matter records and documents, such as a filing date or a notice period noted on a matter, and cites the record each date came from. It does not set reminders or diarise dates in another system. For notice and renewal dates across contracts, AI Contract Renewal Monitor tracks them.
Roughly $50 to $300 a month in your own accounts for AI model usage, the vector database and hosting. The build itself is paid once. Your matter management, document management and Google Drive subscriptions continue on your current plans, and optional monthly maintenance is there if you want changes made for you.
Delivery follows a fixed schedule that starts once your intake is complete, and the delivery panel shows the date and the faster express and rush options before you order. Intake items are due within 72 hours of ordering, and every day they arrive late moves delivery by 3 working days, so having source access and sample questions ready matters.
You do. The hub is tested against 60 benchmark questions, including your 30 samples, and the accuracy report shows each answer with its citation. Two rounds of changes follow your review. After delivery you have five working days to report anything that does not match the Scope Card, and that is fixed at no extra cost.
Order AI Company Knowledge Hub for Legal Operations and the business gets cited answers on intake, matters and deadlines on a fixed delivery date, with no legal advice given.
