Business Automation AI for operations, finance and HR
Upmark Labs builds AI that takes repetitive work off operations, finance and HR teams: workflows that triage email and move data between systems, agents that process invoices and chase payments, and assistants that screen applications and run onboarding. Each build has a fixed scope and a fixed price. Order online, or talk to an expert first.
What problems does business automation solve?
Much of the work that keeps a business running is the same task done again and again: reading an inbox, retyping data, rebuilding a report, keying an invoice. It is slow, it pulls skilled people away from work that needs judgment, and every copy by hand is a chance for a mistake.
If several of these sound familiar, this is the right area to start in:
- Requests arrive by email and form, and someone has to read, sort and retype each one into another system.
- A shared inbox has no clear owner, so messages wait and never become tracked tasks.
- Weekly and monthly reports are rebuilt by hand from spreadsheets and several tools.
- Supplier invoices are keyed, matched and chased for approval one at a time.
- Overdue invoices wait until someone finds time to send reminders and update the records.
- Recruiters read every application by hand, and employees ask HR the same questions about leave and benefits.
What does Upmark Labs build for business automation?
The builds cover workflows, operations, finance and HR. Workflow automation moves data and requests between the tools you already use, with retries, error alerts and a run history for every execution. Operations builds pull updates from your team's tools and turn them into structured briefs with owners and deadlines. Finance builds reconcile document and ledger data against your rules and send exceptions to a queue for finance review. HR builds work from your policies, role definitions and templates.
Finance products support operational workflow only and do not give regulated financial, tax or investment advice. HR products produce criteria-based outputs for a reviewer to sign off, and final people decisions stay with your team.
- AI Email Triage: reads incoming email, classifies it, and routes it or drafts a response.
- AI Data Entry Automation: replaces manual copy-paste between systems with validated automated entry.
- AI Multi-Step Workflow Automation: automates an end-to-end business process across several systems, with AI decisions inside your approval rules.
- AI Invoice Intelligence and AI Accounts Receivable Agent: extract, validate and code supplier invoices, then track receivables, send reminders and reconcile payments.
- AI Daily Operations Agent: collects daily updates across teams and flags the issues that need attention, delivered by email, Slack or Teams.
- AI Resume Screening and AI Employee Onboarding: screen applications against role criteria into reviewer shortlists, and run new-hire checklists, documents and first-week guidance.
How does a business automation project run?
The scope is written before you pay. Each product page carries a Scope Card listing the connected systems, workflows, documents or metrics, testing, training and support included, with a fixed price and the fixed delivery time shown on each product.
Third-party costs, such as your automation platform, AI model usage and hosting, are billed to your own accounts, so you keep every provider relationship. Extra systems, channels, languages or workflows are available as add-ons. A custom requirements note at checkout gets you a written Change Quote before any extra work starts.
- Order: buy in the Store, or talk to an expert first if you are unsure which product fits.
- Intake: send access to each connected system, a description or screen recording of the current manual process, real sample inputs and the name of one decision-maker.
- Build: we configure the workflow, prompts and guardrails, connect the agreed systems and deploy to your environment.
- Test: we run the agreed tests on your own sample data, documents or history, and send you the test report.
- Review: you check the results and request changes within the agreed rounds.
- Launch and support: you get an admin guide, a recorded handoff session and a period of post-launch support, with an optional monthly maintenance plan after that.
How do you choose the right business automation product?
Start with the team where manual work piles up, then match the size of the job: a single-workflow product for one repeated task, an agent for a process that crosses several systems and needs approvals, and a report or briefing for a question leadership asks every week.
If your accounting or hiring system is already chosen, look for the edition built for it. AI Invoice Intelligence and AI Accounts Payable Agent come in editions for QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, NetSuite and Tally; AI Resume Screening in editions for Greenhouse, Lever, Workable and BambooHR; and AI Employee Onboarding in editions for BambooHR, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Industry editions adapt products to sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, construction, retail and hospitality.
If you want daily operations, reporting, procedures and decisions in one connected system, look at AI Business Operations OS. If nothing fits, talk to an expert and we will scope a custom build.
- One repeated task between a few tools: AI Form Processing, AI Spreadsheet Automation, or AI Zapier & Make Workflow Build if you already run Zapier or Make.
- A documented procedure that people follow step by step: AI SOP Generator to write it from recordings and notes, and AI SOP Execution Agent to run it and record completion.
- Supplier invoices and purchasing: AI Accounts Payable Agent for invoice intake, matching and approval routing, and AI Purchase Order Agent to create and track purchase orders from approved requests.
- Money owed to you: AI Accounts Receivable Agent, adding AI Collections Agent for policy-based follow-ups that log promises to pay.
- A regular view for leadership: AI Weekly Business Review, AI Executive Briefing or AI CFO Intelligence Dashboard.
- Hiring and employee questions: AI Interview Scheduling to coordinate candidates and panels, and AI Employee FAQ to answer questions about benefits, leave and processes.

Questions buyers ask
Who stays in control of finance decisions?
Your finance team does. Finance builds reconcile documents and ledger data against the rules you set, and anything that does not match goes to an exceptions queue for review. Agents such as the AI Accounts Payable Agent route approvals to the approver you name during intake. These products support operational workflow only and do not give regulated financial, tax or investment advice.
Will the AI make hiring or employment decisions?
No. HR builds work from your policies, role definitions and templates, and produce consistent, criteria-based outputs for a reviewer to sign off. AI Resume Screening, for example, screens applications against your role criteria and hands a shortlist to your reviewers. Automated hiring and employment decisions are excluded from the HR products, and final people decisions always stay with your team.
Can we see what an automation did, and what happens when a step fails?
Yes. Workflow automation products keep a run history and an audit log for every execution, so you can review each run after the fact. Workflows are trigger-based, with retries and error alerts. During intake you tell us who should receive alerts and errors, so a failed step reaches a named person.
Which systems do business automation builds connect to?
Workflow products typically connect Gmail, Outlook, Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zapier, Make and webhooks. Finance products work with QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, NetSuite, Tally, Stripe and Google Sheets. HR products work with Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, BambooHR and Zoho Recruit, and operations products with Notion, Asana, ClickUp, Jira, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Each Scope Card states which connections are included.
What do we need to provide before the build starts?
Send the intake items within 72 hours of ordering. Workflow products need access to each connected system, a written description or screen recording of the current manual process, real sample inputs and the people who receive alerts. Document products need real sample documents and the fields to extract. Reporting products need read-only data access, your metric definitions and historical data. Late intake moves the delivery date.
What does business automation cost to run after launch?
The build price is paid once. Running costs are billed by the providers to your own accounts: mainly the automation platform and AI model usage for workflows, document reading and storage for invoice and document products, and AI usage and hosting for agents and reports. Each product page shows a running cost estimate, and a monthly maintenance plan is optional.
