AI Multilingual Support for Ecommerce & D2C

Shoppers abroad get order, product and returns answers in their own language, so a new market does not need new hires.

Opening a new market should not mean opening a new support desk. This agent answers shoppers in their own language about order status, product choice, returns and shipping, reading live orders from Shopify or WooCommerce and following your refund and returns rules. Every answer comes from one approved knowledge base, so a policy change made once applies in every language you sell in.

  • Shoppers answered in their own language in every market
  • Live Shopify or WooCommerce order data behind every reply
  • Returns and refund rules applied the same way everywhere

What it is

AI Multilingual Support for Ecommerce & D2C answers shoppers in the language they write in about order status, product choice, returns and what happens after delivery. It reads live orders from Shopify or WooCommerce, follows your refund and returns rules, and draws every answer from one approved knowledge base.

Why businesses buy it

Cross-border shoppers abandon carts and file disputes when they cannot get a clear answer in their language, especially about customs, delivery times and returns. Hiring native speakers for each market is slow and expensive. After launch, shoppers abroad get accurate answers backed by live order data, and your team handles only the exceptions. The Scope Card sets the channel, languages, connected store and workflows before you order, so you know exactly which markets are covered from day one.

Problems this solves

Overseas shoppers abandon carts when nobody answers in their language

The agent answers product-choice questions in the shopper's language, from one approved knowledge base. Buyers get help choosing the right size, model or variant before they give up and leave the page.

Order status questions arrive in several languages every day

Live orders are read from Shopify or WooCommerce, so the agent can give a current status in any language it answers in. Your team stops translating tracking updates by hand.

Return requests from abroad get different answers each time

Returns and refunds follow your rules, set in the Ecommerce & D2C workflow template. Every shopper hears the same policy and the same next steps, whatever language they happen to use.

A good fit if

You ship to several countries, and where-is-my-order questions arrive in languages your support team does not read.
Shoppers abroad ask about sizing, materials or compatibility before buying, and slow replies cost you the sale.
Return rules differ by market, and agents keep looking up which policy applies to which country.
Your store runs on Shopify or WooCommerce, and support already sits in Zendesk or another helpdesk.

Not the right fit if

Your shoppers all write in one language. See AI Customer Support Agent for Ecommerce & D2C, built around order data without the multilingual layer.
Most contacts are where-is-my-order questions you would rather prevent with proactive shipping updates. See AI Order Tracking Agent.
Shoppers reach you almost only on WhatsApp, in one language. See WhatsApp AI Support Agent for Ecommerce & D2C.
You need campaigns and marketing copy adapted for each new market. See AI Marketing Localization.

How it works

  1. A shopper writes in their own language on your chosen channel, and their order is found in Shopify or WooCommerce from the email address or order number.
  2. Order status questions get the live answer: paid, packed, shipped, and the tracking details your store holds.
  3. Product advice comes only from your approved catalog information, size guides and care notes, written once and answered in the shopper's language.
  4. Returns follow the rules for the shopper's market. Refunds and exchanges inside your limits are processed; anything above them goes to your approver.
  5. Post-purchase questions, such as care instructions or exchange requests, run through the Ecommerce & D2C template using your approved wording.
  6. Handoffs reach Zendesk with the order attached and a summary in your team's language, so any agent can pick them up.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Admin or API access to Shopify or WooCommerce, with test orders if possible, and to Zendesk or your helpdesk.
  • Your shipping, returns and refund policies for each market you sell to, in one working language.
  • Product information the agent may use: catalog descriptions, size guides and care notes.
  • Refund and exchange limits, and the person who approves anything above them.
  • Ten real shopper conversations, ideally from your main overseas markets.
  • Admin credentials for your store platform and helpdesk, handed over securely rather than by email.
  • One decision-maker for policy questions during the build.
  • A rough count of your current help articles, FAQs and saved replies, so we can check there is enough source content to answer from.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Shoppers can get answers in their language before and after they buy.
  • Helps apply your returns policy the same way in every market.
  • Your team can spend less time translating routine replies.
Non-primary language tickets handled by staff
Count staff-handled tickets in other languages from your helpdesk. Compare four weeks before and after launch.
Conversion after a chat
Use your store analytics to compare orders from visitors who chatted, by language, before and after launch.
Return request handling time
Measure time from return request to decision for four weeks before and after launch.

Before you start: Record a month of support tickets by language, with reply times and return handling times.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build is paid once. Running it costs roughly $50 to $250 a month for AI model usage and hosting in your own accounts, on top of your Shopify or WooCommerce plan and your helpdesk. Sale periods and launches in a new market push usage toward the top of the range.

Usage during testing is billed to your accounts as well.

Custom requirements

A second storefront, Klaviyo connected alongside the store and helpdesk, or shipping-carrier tracking as a third system needs a written Change Quote. Note it at checkout to receive the quote.

Keep it running

Optional monthly maintenance covers monitoring, fixes, model and platform updates, a monthly health report and monthly change hours for new collections, seasonal returns windows or a new market's policy. It starts after the post-launch support period, bills monthly and can be cancelled any month.

$370/mo (5% of the build price a month, includes 3 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

Can the ecommerce multilingual agent read Shopify or WooCommerce orders?

Yes. Your store platform is one of the two connected systems, with read and write access, so the agent can see an order's status, items and tracking details and act on approved requests. The other system is usually your helpdesk, such as Zendesk, where handoffs and logged conversations land.

How does AI Multilingual Support for Ecommerce & D2C handle returns from different countries?

It applies the returns rules you provide for each market, such as the window and condition requirements, and answers in the shopper's language. Refunds and exchanges inside your approval limits can be processed. Anything outside them, or any case your policy does not cover, goes to your approver.

Does the D2C edition give product advice in the shopper's language?

Yes, from approved information only. It answers sizing, material and care questions using your catalog descriptions, size guides and care notes, translated in the reply. If the information is not in what you supplied, it says so and hands off rather than guessing at a product detail.

What do post-purchase flows cover in the ecommerce multilingual edition?

The conversations that follow delivery, run from the Ecommerce & D2C template with your approved wording: care or usage questions, exchange requests and problems with a delivered item. The exact flows count toward the six workflows on the Scope Card and are agreed at intake, so nothing is sent that you have not approved.

How quickly can the ecommerce multilingual edition launch?

Delivery runs on a fixed schedule from a verified intake, and the exact date is shown in the delivery panel before you buy, with express and rush options if you need it sooner. Each includes fifty documented test scenarios using your own orders and policies, two rounds of changes and a recorded 60-minute handoff.

Can the D2C edition serve more than one brand or storefront?

Yes, with the Multi-Brand Setup add-on, which configures the build for several brands. If each brand runs on a separate store with its own platform account, connecting the extra store needs a Change Quote, because the Scope Card allows two connected systems in total.
