AI Meeting Agent for Slack

Meeting decisions and action items posted to the right Slack channel, with each owner mentioned by name.

If your team lives in Slack, a meeting recap sent by email is a recap nobody reads. This agent takes the transcript or notes from your meeting tool, pulls out the decisions and action items, and posts a short summary to the right Slack channel with each owner mentioned by name. Unassigned items are flagged to the organizer, so nothing quietly falls through.

  • Meeting summaries posted to the right Slack channel
  • Each owner mentioned by name on their action items
  • Unassigned items flagged to the organizer straight away

What it is

AI Meeting Agent for Slack takes the transcript or notes from your meeting tool, pulls out decisions and action items, and posts a short summary to the approved Slack channel with each owner mentioned. A Slack app installed by your workspace admin handles messages, user lookups and app interactions.

Why businesses buy it

Follow-ups fail when they land somewhere your team does not look. Slack-first teams lose actions in inboxes and notetaker apps, then spend the next meeting asking who was meant to do what. This agent puts the record in the channel where the work is discussed, with owners tagged, so accountability is visible to everyone. There is no new tool to adopt. The channels, meeting tool and summary layout are agreed on the Scope Card before you order, and your Slack admin approves where the app may post.

Problems this solves

Meeting outcomes never make it into the Slack channel

The agent takes the transcript or notes from your meeting tool and posts a short summary to the approved Slack channel. The team sees decisions where conversation already happens.

People miss their actions because nobody tagged them

Each owner is mentioned in the summary, found through a user lookup in your workspace. Actions land in their Slack notifications instead of a document they may never open.

Workspace admins are cautious about apps with unclear Slack permissions

A Slack app installed by your workspace admin handles messages, user lookups and app interactions. Access uses invites or keys you control, and the field mapping is documented.

A good fit if

Your team talks in Slack all day, and meeting follow-ups sent anywhere else get missed.
Recordings or transcripts come from one meeting tool, which can be connected as the one extra system.
You want owners tagged in a channel post so everyone sees who took what.
A Slack workspace admin can install the app and approve which channels it may post in.

Not the right fit if

Your team works in Microsoft Teams rather than Slack. See AI Meeting Agent for Microsoft Teams.
You want summaries saved as Docs and sent by Gmail. See AI Meeting Agent for Google Workspace.
You want a Slack bot that answers questions and runs actions on request, not meeting follow-up. See AI Slack Bot.
Action items need tracking to completion across a project. See AI Project Manager Agent.

How it works

  1. Install. A workspace admin installs the Slack app, and on a 30-minute call we agree which channels it may post in and which meetings map to each.
  2. Source. Your meeting or recording tool, connected as the one more system, supplies the transcript or notes when a meeting ends.
  3. Extract. The single AI step pulls out decisions and action items and matches each owner's name to a Slack user.
  4. Post. A short summary goes to the approved channel for that meeting, decisions first, with each owner mentioned next to their item.
  5. Acknowledge. If you include this step, owners confirm an item from the message itself, recorded as an app interaction, so the organizer sees what is picked up.
  6. Flag. Items with no clear owner are posted as unassigned and the organizer is alerted. Twenty test runs on past meetings check all of this before launch.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Your Slack admin for a 30-minute call on approved channels.
  • Access to the meeting or recording tool that produces transcripts or notes.
  • Which meetings should post to which channels.
  • Five to ten past meetings with transcripts or notes.
  • Who should be alerted about errors or unowned items.
  • Your business basics and one approver for the summary format.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.

  • A Slack app installed by your workspace admin, with documented field mapping
  • A connection to one more system, such as your meeting or transcript tool

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can make meeting outcomes visible in the channels people read
  • Helps owners notice their actions through Slack mentions
  • Makes it easier to search Slack later for a past decision
Summaries posted after meetings
Count summaries in the approved channel against meetings held, using your meeting tool's history.
Action items acknowledged
Track how many mentioned owners reply or react to their item in Slack within a day.
Actions completed on time
Sample actions monthly and check completion. Compare with a sample from meetings before launch.

Before you start: Look at a few recent meetings and check whether outcomes reached Slack at all. Note how actions are assigned today.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build is paid once. After launch, roughly $20 to $100 a month for the automation platform and AI usage is billed to your own accounts, mostly tracking meeting volume. Your Slack plan and meeting tool subscription are unchanged.

Usage during build and testing goes to your accounts too.

Questions about this product

Which Slack channels can the meeting agent post in?

Only the channels approved during setup. Your workspace admin installs the app, and on the 30-minute call we map each meeting or meeting type to a channel. The app reads and posts nowhere else, and adding a channel later is a small change under maintenance.

Where does the Slack meeting agent get transcripts from?

From your meeting or recording tool, connected as the one more system on the Scope Card. Slack itself carries the summary and the owner mentions. If your meetings have no transcript, structured notes from that tool can be used instead, which we confirm during intake.

How are action item owners matched to Slack users?

Names in the transcript are matched against your Slack user list, which the app reads within its approved scope. A clear match is mentioned in the post; an ambiguous one, such as two people with the same first name, is posted as unassigned and the organizer is alerted.

Can owners acknowledge action items inside Slack?

Yes, if you include that step. Each item can carry a button the owner presses to confirm it, recorded as an app interaction, so the organizer sees what has been picked up. Tracking items through to completion, with deadlines and reminders, is a different job, covered by AI Project Manager Agent.

What is included in the Slack meeting agent build?

Every build includes the Slack app setup and field mapping, one workflow, 20 test runs on your own meetings and a recorded forty-five-minute handoff session. Standard, express and rush delivery times are shown in the delivery panel before you buy. The scope is the same at every pace; only the calendar changes.

What does the Slack meeting agent cost to run each month?

Roughly $20 to $100 a month for the automation platform and AI usage, paid in your own accounts and rising with meetings processed. Slack and your meeting tool bill you separately, as they do now. Monthly maintenance is optional and covers small changes like mapping a new meeting to a channel.

Put every meeting's follow-up where your team already talks.
