AI Incident Triage

Alerts arrive already grouped, ranked and paired with a likely cause, so you write the fix instead of the summary.

When something breaks, the first minutes go on sorting duplicate alerts and writing a status update, not on fixing the problem. AI Incident Triage groups related alerts, ranks them by likely severity, checks recent deploys and code changes for a probable cause, and drafts the first incident update. Your engineers start from a clear picture, and every action stays in their hands.

  • Related alerts grouped into one ranked incident
  • A likely cause found in recent deploys and changes
  • First incident update drafted before anyone asks

What it is

AI Incident Triage is an agent that groups related alerts, ranks them by likely severity, and drafts a first incident update the moment something breaks. It checks your repository, pipeline and recent deploys for a probable cause before a person opens the page. It never changes production on its own.

Why businesses buy it

Every minute of an incident costs revenue, customer trust and engineering focus, and much of that time goes on triage rather than repair. Alert storms hide the real problem, and the person on call has to piece together what changed. AI Incident Triage does that first sorting and investigation automatically, so your team moves straight to fixing and stakeholders get an early, accurate update. The Scope Card fixes the repository, connected systems, rules and trial before you order, so you know exactly what it watches and what it drafts.

Problems this solves

A flood of alerts hides which one actually matters

The agent groups related alerts and ranks them by likely severity. Whoever responds sees one incident with a priority, not a stream of separate notifications.

Engineers lose the first minutes of an incident hunting for clues

Before a person opens the page, it checks your repository, pipeline and recent deploys for a probable cause. The responder starts with a lead instead of a blank screen.

Stakeholders wait too long for a first incident update

It drafts a first update the moment something breaks, ready for a person to edit and send. Stakeholders hear something early, and the agent never changes production on its own.

A good fit if

Your team gets paged by a flood of alerts that all trace back to one root cause, and someone has to work out which is which.
You already keep incidents in Jira or Linear and want the first triage pass finished before an engineer opens the ticket.
Your services run on AWS, GCP or Azure, and a recent deploy is often the culprit, so correlating them saves real time.
You want every incident to start with a written summary and a severity guess, not a blank ticket someone fills in under pressure.

Not the right fit if

You need something an engineer can question mid-incident, not just an opening summary. See AI On-Call Assistant, which answers questions during the incident instead of drafting the first update.
You want ongoing pattern analysis across weeks of logs, not a reaction to alerts as they fire. See AI Log Analysis, built for that instead.
You need more than two connected systems, for example five monitoring tools feeding one triage view. Add a note at checkout for a quote, or start from our Custom AI enquiry form.
You run more than one language or stack and need triage across all of them at once. This build covers one stack; a second is priced separately.

How it works

  1. An alert arrives. It lands from Slack, your Git host, or a pipeline that just failed, and the triage run starts within moments.
  2. Related alerts are grouped. Duplicate and downstream alerts from the same root cause are folded into one incident instead of ten separate pages.
  3. A likely cause is proposed. It checks recent commits, pull requests and deploys on the affected repository for the change that lines up with the failure.
  4. A severity and owner are suggested, based on the rules you set, so the right person sees how urgent the incident looks.
  5. A first draft update is written. A short, factual incident summary goes into Jira, Linear or Slack for a person to confirm or correct.
  6. Nothing ships without you. It never restarts a service, rolls back a deploy, or closes an incident; a person makes every production change.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Your business information (company basics, hours and brand voice), shared during intake, or confirmation we can reuse what you gave us on an earlier order.
  • Scoped access to the repository or pipeline this build watches, as an app install or a limited token.
  • Your CI/CD configuration, so the triage logic understands what a normal build or deploy looks like.
  • Your coding standards or runbooks, so the drafted cause and severity match how your team actually talks about incidents.
  • Access to the tracker or chat tool where incidents should land, such as Jira, Linear or Slack.
  • Admin access and API keys for every connected system, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email.
  • One person on your side who can approve decisions during setup and sign off at launch.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • The incident triage agent connected to one repository or pipeline
  • Connection to your Git host and one tracker or chat tool
  • Severity, grouping and guardrail configuration drawing on your runbooks
  • Test report from a trial on 20 pipeline runs or incidents
  • Admin guide and recorded 45-minute handoff session
  • 30 days of post-launch support

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can help responders start on the right problem sooner.
  • Makes it easier to keep stakeholders informed early in an incident.
Time to acknowledge
Compare time from first alert to a person taking ownership, using your alerting history, before launch and after.
Time to first update
Measure time from first alert to the first stakeholder update for each incident, before and after launch.
Severity calls confirmed
Record how often responders keep or change the agent's suggested severity.

Before you start: Review the last few incidents and note time to acknowledge, time to first update and alert volume.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build price is one-time. Running it costs roughly $20 to $200 a month in your own accounts, covering AI model usage and CI minutes, and it scales with how many alerts and pipeline runs pass through it.

AI usage during the build and testing is also billed to your accounts, so you keep ownership of every provider relationship. Nothing runs through us.

Custom requirements

If you need something outside the Scope Card, add a note at checkout. You get a written Change Quote, and that work only starts once you accept it. Your original order runs on its normal timeline either way. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form.

Request a custom version

Keep it running

We recommend monthly maintenance: monitoring, fixes, and monthly change hours, enough to retune grouping rules or add a severity band. Maintenance starts after the 30 days of support, bills monthly, and can be cancelled any month.

$249/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

What does the AI Incident Triage build include?

Everything on the Scope Card: alert grouping and severity ranking, likely-cause checks against your repository and recent deploys, and drafted incident updates in your tracker, the trial run, two rounds of changes and the recorded handoff session. The price is fixed and shown on this page before you order, and it does not change once your Scope Card is confirmed. AI usage is billed to your own accounts.

How much does it cost to run AI Incident Triage each month?

Roughly $20 to $200 a month, covering AI model usage and CI minutes in your own accounts, not ours. The exact figure depends on how many alerts and pipeline runs it processes each month. Monthly maintenance is separate and optional if you want ongoing changes handled for you.

When does AI Incident Triage go live?

Delivery runs on a fixed schedule, and the delivery panel shows the standard date plus express and rush options before you order. The clock starts once your repository access and tracker details are confirmed and your intake is complete, not the day you place the order, so sending them early keeps the date.

What access does AI Incident Triage need to my code?

Scoped access only, either an app install or a limited token, plus your CI/CD configuration and coding standards. It never needs full admin rights to your codebase. Every credential is shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control during intake, not by email, and you can revoke it at any time after launch.

Can I change the severity rules after AI Incident Triage launches?

Yes. Small adjustments, such as a new severity band or an updated routing rule, fit inside the monthly change hours that come with maintenance. Swapping to a different tracker or adding a second repository is a bigger change and gets a Change Quote first.

Can I cancel the AI Incident Triage maintenance?

Yes, in any month. Plans bill monthly with no lock-in, and you keep the build itself either way; cancelling only stops the monitoring, fixes and included hours. The 30 days of post-launch support that come with every order continue regardless of whether you ever start a plan.

Who owns the AI Incident Triage configuration once it is built?

You do. The workflow, prompts and rules built for you belong to your business, and every connected account runs under your own credentials, not ours. If you stop maintenance, the build keeps running; you simply lose the included monthly changes and support.

Will AI Incident Triage ever restart a service or roll back a deploy on its own?

No. It groups alerts, proposes a cause and severity, and drafts the first incident update, but it never touches production. Any action beyond writing a draft, such as restarting a service or rolling back a deploy, needs a person to approve and carry out separately.

Stop triaging incidents from a blank ticket.

Order AI Incident Triage and on a fixed delivery date it starts grouping your alerts, proposing a cause and drafting the first update.
