Voice and Messaging AI
Upmark Labs builds AI that answers, routes and places phone calls, runs customer conversations on WhatsApp, and turns recorded calls into CRM notes and quality scores. It suits businesses whose customers call or message. Every build has a written scope and a fixed price: order it online in the Store, or talk to an expert first.
Which problems does voice and messaging AI solve?
The products in this area take on conversations your team cannot always get to. Each one handles a defined set of calls or messages, and hands the rest to a person.
- Calls go unanswered at busy times, at lunch or after you close.
- Staff repeat the same answers about hours, prices, availability and order status, on the phone and on WhatsApp.
- Callers get lost in keypad menus and reach the wrong person or team.
- New leads, quotes and missed calls wait too long for a call back.
- Bookings, reminders and order confirmations depend on someone finding time to call or message.
- Nobody has time to write call notes, listen back to calls or check them against a quality checklist.
What do we build for phone and WhatsApp?
Each product does a defined job, with its limits written down before you buy. Voice agents run on one phone number in a telephony account in your name, such as Twilio, Vonage, Aircall, RingCentral or Exotel. WhatsApp agents run on one number on the official WhatsApp Business Platform.
Two products work on calls that already happen rather than taking them: AI Call Summarization writes notes, outcomes and next steps into your CRM, and AI Call QA scores calls against your own quality checklist. Industry Editions, such as AI Voice Receptionist for Home Services, add a workflow template for that industry, and Integration Editions are built around one named system, such as HubSpot, Shopify or Google Calendar.
- AI Voice Receptionist: answers calls, handles common questions, takes messages and transfers callers.
- AI Voice Booking Agent: books, reschedules and cancels appointments by phone.
- AI Voice Customer Support: resolves support calls from your knowledge base, with transfer to a person.
- AI Outbound Calling Agent: places calls for reminders, confirmations and surveys.
- WhatsApp AI Support Agent: resolves customer questions on WhatsApp and hands off to a person.
- WhatsApp AI Order Agent: takes and confirms orders inside the WhatsApp conversation.
How does a voice or WhatsApp project run?
Every product page shows its Scope Card before you pay: the channel, the systems it connects to, the call or conversation flows, the testing, the rounds of changes and the fixed delivery time shown on each product. Anything outside it is quoted in writing as a Change Quote, and that work starts only once you accept it.
Running costs are paid in your own accounts, not through us: call minutes and number rental for voice, and Meta's WhatsApp conversation fees plus AI usage and hosting for messaging. Each product page gives an estimate.
- Scope: written on the product page before purchase.
- Intake: within 72 hours of the order you send your telephony or WhatsApp account access, scripts or FAQs, and who takes handoffs.
- Build: the agent is configured in your environment, connected to the agreed systems and tested against the agreed scenarios, with a test report you review.
- Launch: two rounds of changes, then go-live with an admin guide and a recorded handoff session.
- Support: 30 days of post-launch support, then an optional monthly maintenance plan.
How do you choose the right product?
Choose by the job first. Decide which conversations should stop depending on someone being free, then pick the product built for that job on the channel your customers already use.
If two products look close, or your calls need flows the Scope Card does not cover, talk to an expert before you order.
- Missed calls and routine questions: AI Voice Receptionist. Support calls that need answers from your documents: AI Voice Customer Support.
- Callers who need the right team without keypad menus: AI IVR Intelligence or AI Voice Routing.
- Leads and quotes that need a call back: AI Voice Lead Qualification or AI Voice Follow-Up.
- Customers who send voice notes as well as text: WhatsApp Voice + Text Agent.
- Several jobs at once: the AI Voice Business Stack and AI WhatsApp Commerce Stack bundles group related products.

Questions buyers ask
Should we start with a voice agent or a WhatsApp agent?
Start where your customers already reach you. If most enquiries arrive by phone, a voice product answers them on your own line. If customers message you on WhatsApp, a WhatsApp agent answers there. If you later need both, the Voice Channel Add-on gives an existing text agent a phone line, and the WhatsApp Channel Add-on connects an existing agent to the WhatsApp Business Platform.
What happens when the AI cannot help a customer?
It hands the conversation to a person. Voice products make a warm transfer to the number you choose when the caller asks for someone or the agent is not confident of the answer. WhatsApp agents pass the conversation to a human agent inbox. You decide during intake who receives each type of handoff, and voice calls are logged with a transcript, a summary and the outcome.
What do we pay each month after launch?
The build price is one-time. Running costs go straight to your own providers. For voice, that is call minutes on the voice platform, AI model and telephony, plus number rental. For WhatsApp, it is Meta's conversation fees plus AI usage and hosting. Each product page shows an estimate. A maintenance plan for monitoring, fixes and changes is optional, billed monthly and can be cancelled.
Do we need a WhatsApp Business Platform account first?
You need a verified Meta Business account and a number on the WhatsApp Business Platform, both in your name. If you do not have a platform account yet, we help you set one up during intake. Where Meta requires template messages, we set them up and submit them for Meta's approval as part of the build. The approval decision itself rests with Meta.
Can a voice or WhatsApp agent connect to our calendar, CRM or store?
Yes, within the limits on each Scope Card. Voice products typically connect to Google or Outlook Calendar and a CRM. WhatsApp agents typically connect to Shopify, WooCommerce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM or Google Sheets. Integration Editions are built around one named system, such as Salesforce, Calendly or WooCommerce. Extra systems come as add-ons or through a written Change Quote before any work starts.
Can the agent speak or write in more than one language?
Most builds in this area cover one language. The Additional Language Pack adds one more language to an existing product, including a glossary and testing in that language. For a phone line where callers speak different languages, the AI Multilingual Voice Agent is built to handle calls in multiple languages and detects the caller's language automatically.
Not sure which calls or chats to hand over first?
Tell an expert which calls and WhatsApp messages take up your team's day, and we will point you to the product that fits or scope a custom build.
