Customer Service AI
Upmark Labs builds AI for support and customer success teams: agents that answer customers from your approved knowledge, tools that classify and route tickets, and account monitoring that flags churn risk. Each build has a fixed scope and a fixed price written before you buy. Order it online in the Store, or talk to an expert first.
What problems does customer service AI solve?
Most support queues fill with the same requests: where is my order, how do I fix this, can I get a refund. Agents answer them one at a time while harder cases wait. On the customer success side, the signs that an account is drifting sit in different systems, so they can go unnoticed until renewal.
- The same questions arrive every day and pull agents away from cases that need judgment.
- Tickets sit untagged or land in the wrong queue until someone sorts them by hand.
- Refund, warranty and cancellation requests each need a policy check before anyone can reply.
- Agents search the help center for the right article while the customer waits.
- Account health is spread across product usage, support and billing data, so churn signals are missed.
- Quarterly business reviews and account summaries are put together by hand before each meeting.
What does Upmark Labs build for customer service?
The builds fall into three groups. Front-line agents talk to your customers. Support operations tools work inside your helpdesk, behind the scenes. Customer success builds watch your accounts and prepare the next action for your team.
Front-line agents answer only from the knowledge sources you approve, hand the conversation to a person when confidence falls below the agreed threshold, and log every conversation with a resolution tag for review. Customer success builds combine product usage, support and billing data, follow your playbook for each account state, and wait for a customer success manager to review anything before it reaches a customer.
Many products also come as editions for one helpdesk, such as the AI Customer Support Agent for Zendesk, or for one industry, such as the AI Customer Support Agent for SaaS.
- AI Customer Support Agent: resolves customer questions across chat and email from your knowledge base and hands complex cases to a person.
- AI Order Support Agent: answers order status, delivery and change requests using live order data.
- AI Refund Workflow: handles refund requests against your policy and prepares approvals for the person who signs off.
- AI Ticket Classification and AI Ticket Routing: tag incoming tickets by topic, product, urgency and sentiment, then send each one to the right team or agent.
- AI Support Copilot: drafts replies and surfaces relevant articles for your agents inside the helpdesk.
- AI Customer Health Score and AI Churn Prevention: calculate account health from usage, support, billing and sentiment signals, then run targeted retention workflows.
How does a customer service AI project run?
The scope is written before you pay. Each product page carries a Scope Card listing the channels, connected systems, knowledge sources, workflows, language, testing and support included, with a fixed price and the fixed delivery time shown on each product.
Running costs, mainly AI model usage and hosting, are paid in your own accounts alongside your existing helpdesk or CRM plan, so you keep every provider relationship.
- Order: buy online in the Store, or talk to an expert first if you are unsure which product fits.
- Intake: within 72 hours of ordering, send your knowledge sources, policies, escalation rules, sample conversations and access to the connected systems.
- Build: we configure the workflows, prompts and guardrails, connect the agreed systems and deploy to your environment.
- Test: agents are checked against documented test scenarios, and account analytics against your historical data, and you receive the test report.
- Launch: two rounds of changes, an admin guide and a recorded handoff session for your team.
- Support: thirty days of post-launch support, then an optional monthly plan for monitoring, fixes and changes.
How do you choose the right customer service product?
Start where the work piles up. If customers wait for answers, start on the front line. If agents lose time sorting, tagging and searching, start with support operations. If accounts cancel or stall, start with customer success.
If your helpdesk is already chosen, look for the edition built for it. If the need spans several products or sits outside every Scope Card, talk to an expert and we will scope a custom build.
- Settled questions on your website with approved answers: AI FAQ Agent, which answers from an approved FAQ set.
- Questions across chat and email that need your policies and a path to a person: AI Customer Support Agent.
- You want your agents to stay in charge of every reply: AI Support Copilot, which drafts answers for them inside the helpdesk.
- Tickets reach the wrong people: AI Ticket Routing, adding AI Ticket Classification if tagging is still manual.
- Accounts cancel without warning: AI Customer Health Score to see the risk, AI Churn Prevention to act on it.

Questions buyers ask
Will the AI answer questions it does not know?
No. Front-line agents answer only from the knowledge sources you approve, such as help center articles, FAQs and policies. When confidence falls below the threshold agreed during the build, the conversation passes to a person on your team. Every conversation is logged with a resolution tag, so you can review what the agent said and why it handed off.
Which helpdesks and tools can these products connect to?
Support products typically connect to Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, Gorgias, Help Scout, HubSpot Service Hub or a website chat widget. Customer success products typically work with HubSpot, Salesforce, Intercom, Zendesk, Stripe, Mixpanel, Amplitude and Slack. Several products also come as editions built for one helpdesk. The Scope Card on each product states which connections are included in the price.
Will a customer success build contact my customers on its own?
No. Customer success products combine product usage, support and billing data, then prepare actions from your playbook for each account state. A customer success manager reviews anything customer-facing before it goes out. Analytics builds such as the AI Customer Health Score deliver their results to one channel you choose: email, Slack or a web dashboard.
What do I need to provide, and when?
Send the intake items within 72 hours of ordering. For support products that means help center articles, FAQs and policies, helpdesk admin access, escalation rules, support hours and real sample conversations. For customer success products it means your customer list with plan and renewal dates, access to CRM and product usage data, and your current success playbooks. Late intake moves the delivery date.
What does it cost to run after launch?
The build price is one-time. Running costs, mainly AI model usage and hosting, are paid in your own accounts alongside your existing helpdesk or CRM plan, and nothing runs through us. Each product page gives a typical monthly estimate. Once the included post-launch support ends, an optional monthly plan covers monitoring, fixes and changes.
What if my support process does not fit a standard product?
Add a custom requirements note when you order and you receive a written Change Quote before any extra work starts, while your original order keeps its timeline. Extra channels, systems, languages and workflows are available as add-ons. If the work is larger or spans several products, talk to an expert and we will scope a custom build.
Not sure where your support queue should start?
Tell an expert where tickets pile up or accounts slip away, and we will point you to the product that fits or scope a custom build.
