AI Agents for operations, with people in charge
Upmark Labs builds AI agents that take on recurring work for leaders and teams, from inbox triage and project tracking to research, plus approval workflows that keep people in control of what AI does. Each build has a fixed scope and a fixed price written before you buy. Order online in the Store, or talk to an expert first.
What problems do AI agents solve?
Much of a team's recurring knowledge work follows a pattern: sorting email, chasing updates, writing status notes, gathering research, comparing quotes. The work matters, but it does not need a senior person doing it by hand every time.
Teams that already use AI meet a second problem: control. Nobody wants an agent sending a message, approving a purchase or replying to a customer without a person checking first, and outputs that nobody reviews can drift away from your standards.
- A leader's inbox and calendar crowd out planning time, and follow-ups slip.
- Project status sits in task tools and chat threads, so someone has to chase every owner for an update.
- Meeting decisions and action items are not written down, or never reach the people who own them.
- Research means searching the web and internal documents by hand, and the sources are hard to trace afterwards.
- Purchase requests, vendor quotes and partner questions arrive in different places and wait for someone to collect them.
- AI already drafts replies or takes actions, but there is no rule for what it may do alone and no record of who approved what.
What does Upmark Labs build in AI Agents?
The builds fall into two groups. Business agents take on recurring knowledge work for a leader or a team. Each one can use only the tools and actions you approve, remembers prior context within your workspace and keeps an activity log of every action it takes.
Human-in-the-loop builds put people in charge of AI work. They add review queues with approve, edit and reject actions, rules for what the AI may do alone and what needs a person, and a full history of decisions for accountability.
Some agents also come as editions for one tool, such as the AI Project Manager Agent for Jira or the AI Meeting Agent for Microsoft Teams, or for one industry, such as the AI Community Manager for Events.
- AI Executive Assistant: triages the inbox, manages the calendar, prepares briefings and chases follow-ups for a leader.
- AI Project Manager Agent: tracks tasks, deadlines and blockers and posts status updates to the team.
- AI Meeting Agent: captures meeting notes, decisions and action items and routes them to their owners.
- AI Research Agent: researches questions across the web and your documents and returns cited briefs.
- AI Procurement Agent: collects purchase requests, compares vendor quotes and prepares recommendations.
- Human Approval Workflow and AI Supervisor Agent: add approval steps before AI actions take effect, and pause other agents when rules are breached.
How does an AI agent project run?
The scope is written before you pay. Each product page carries a Scope Card listing the channel, connected systems, workflows, language, testing and support included, with a fixed price and the fixed delivery time shown on each product.
Running costs, mainly AI model usage and hosting, are paid directly in your own accounts, alongside the subscriptions you already hold for tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Slack.
- Order: buy online in the Store, or talk to an expert first if you are unsure which agent fits.
- Intake: within 72 hours of ordering, send access to the tools the agent will use, its goals and boundaries, sample tasks, and the name of the person who approves its actions.
- Build: we configure the workflows, prompts and guardrails, connect the agreed systems and deploy to your environment.
- Test: the build is checked against the scenarios agreed in the scope, and you receive the test report.
- Launch: two rounds of changes, an admin guide and a recorded handoff session for your team.
- Support: 30 days of post-launch support, then an optional monthly maintenance plan for monitoring, fixes and changes.
How do you choose the right AI agent?
Start with the task you would hand to a capable assistant tomorrow. If the work belongs to one person, start with a personal agent. If it belongs to a team, start with the agent for that team's process. If AI already runs in your business and you want more control over it, start with an oversight build. Prices in this area start from $1,900, for the AI Email Drafting Agent.
If your project tool or workspace is already chosen, look for the edition built for it. If the need spans several agents or sits outside every Scope Card, talk to an expert and we will scope a custom build.
- A leader's inbox, calendar and follow-ups: AI Executive Assistant, or AI Email Drafting Agent if you only want replies drafted in your voice for approval.
- Your own day and task list: AI Personal Productivity Agent, which plans the day, drafts replies and keeps a personal task list current.
- Goals that need breaking into tasks and chasing: AI Delegation Agent, which assigns tasks to people or agents and follows up.
- Sales or support replies that a person must approve before sending: Human-in-the-Loop Sales Agent or Human-in-the-Loop Support Agent.
- AI outputs waiting for review in several places: Agent Review Queue for one queue, with AI Approval Assistant to summarize what reviewers are approving.
- Agents already running without oversight: AI Supervisor Agent to pause them when rules are breached, and Agent Quality Control to sample and score their outputs against your standards.

Questions buyers ask
Can an AI agent act without my approval?
Only where you allow it. During the build we agree which actions the agent may take alone and which need a person, and the agent can use only the tools and actions you approve. Every action is recorded in an activity log. If you want a review step on everything, add a Human Approval Workflow, so nothing takes effect until a person approves, edits or rejects it.
Which tools can these agents connect to?
Business agents typically work with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Notion, your CRM and project tools. Oversight builds typically connect to Slack, Microsoft Teams, email, helpdesk and CRM tools. Some agents come as editions built for one tool, such as the AI Project Manager Agent for Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com or Linear. The Scope Card on each product states which connections are included in the price.
What is the difference between a business agent and a human-in-the-loop build?
A business agent does a piece of work, such as triaging an inbox, tracking a project or preparing a research brief. A human-in-the-loop build controls how AI work takes effect: it adds review queues, approval steps, escalation to the right person or quality scoring. You can pair the two, for example an agent that drafts the work and an approval workflow where a person signs it off.
What do I need to provide, and when?
Send the intake items within 72 hours of ordering: access to the tools the agent will use, its goals and boundaries, real sample tasks or emails, your rules such as approval limits, and the person who approves actions. Oversight builds also need the workflows to be supervised, reviewer roles and response times, and your escalation rules. Late intake moves the delivery date.
Can an AI agent make compliance or purchasing decisions for us?
No. The AI Compliance Assistant answers internal policy questions and checks work against your compliance rules, and the AI Procurement Agent compares vendor quotes and prepares recommendations. In both cases the final decision stays with a qualified person on your team. The approval rules set during the build decide what each agent may do alone and what must wait for a person.
What does it cost to run after launch?
The build price is one-time. Running costs, mainly AI model usage and hosting, are paid directly in your own accounts alongside the subscriptions you already hold. Each product page gives a typical monthly estimate. Third-party subscriptions are not part of the build price. Once the 30 days of included post-launch support end, an optional monthly maintenance plan covers monitoring, fixes and changes.
