AI products that work with Twilio
Twilio gives you programmable phone numbers, calls and SMS. These AI agents build on that by connecting natively to your Twilio account. They answer incoming calls, help with common questions, take messages and transfer callers, or handle specific call types completely, using the numbers, recordings and messaging you already run through Twilio.

What do the Twilio editions do?
There are two. The AI Voice Receptionist for Twilio answers calls, handles common questions, takes messages and transfers callers. The AI Inbound Call Agent for Twilio handles inbound calls end to end for the call types you define. The receptionist suits businesses that want every call answered well. The inbound agent suits those with repeat call types that can be fully resolved.

- Taking messages and transferring callers
- Resolving defined call types end to end
- Working with recordings and SMS
How do they work with Twilio?
Both editions connect natively to Twilio and read and update voice calls, phone numbers, recordings and SMS. Because the agents sit on your own Twilio account, the numbers, call records and recordings stay in your control. Teams that already build on Twilio get AI call handling without moving to a separate phone platform.
Questions buyers ask
Do we need developers to use these?
No. Twilio is often used by developers, but these editions are set up for you as a fixed-scope product. You need an active Twilio account, and the Scope Card lists what access the agent needs. Your team manages the agent's behavior through the rules agreed during setup.
Can the agent send text messages too?
Both Twilio editions read and update SMS alongside voice calls. Exactly how SMS is used, for example a follow-up after a call, is part of the scope agreed with you and written on the Scope Card. Check the card if text messaging is important to your workflow.
Twilio or RingCentral, which edition should we pick?
Pick the one that matches the phone system you already use. Both the receptionist and the inbound call agent come in Twilio and RingCentral editions. The Twilio versions work with programmable numbers and SMS, while the RingCentral versions work with its call logs and recordings.
How the connection is set up
The general pattern we follow for every integration.
- 1You create the necessary access in your Twilio account: a private app, an API key, or an OAuth approval, depending on what Twilio supports.
- 2We agree a secure way to share access during intake. Please never send passwords or API keys by email.
- 3We agree the field mapping with you and test it on sample records before anything goes live.
- 4You can revoke access from Twilio or the portal at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Which Twilio plan do I need?
It depends on the product. Each product page lists the Twilio features it relies on; plan upgrades are not included.
Will it change my existing data?
Only the fields in the mapping agreed with you, and that mapping is tested on sample records before anything goes live.
Can I use a different platform instead?
Many products also have editions for other platforms. See the full integrations list for what is currently published.
