AI receptionist for small business: calls, bookings and handoffs
What an AI receptionist does on a real call, the rules that apply, a sample greeting and a pass/fail checklist to launch one safely.
Intercom conversations resolved from your help center while the customer is still in the chat, with tagged handoffs to your team.
Customers who start an Intercom chat expect an answer while they are still on your site. This edition replies inside Intercom conversations from your help center articles and policies, reads the contact's details for context, and tags each conversation by topic and outcome. When a person is needed, it hands over to your team inbox with everything already captured.

AI Customer Support Agent for Intercom replies inside Intercom conversations using your help center articles and policies, reads the contact's details for context, tags each conversation with its topic and outcome, and hands over to your team inbox when needed. It acts only within your approval rules. Every reply stays on brand.
Live chat only works if it feels live. When customers wait minutes for a reply, they leave the page, and many do not come back. Staffing chat around the clock is expensive, especially across time zones. This edition answers routine questions instantly from your own help center, tags every conversation so reporting stays clean, and passes real problems to your team without making customers repeat themselves. The scope names the inboxes, tags and handoff rules before you order, and it runs in your own Intercom workspace.
The agent replies inside Intercom conversations using your help center articles and policies. It reads the contact's details for context, then answers or hands over to your team inbox.
Each conversation is tagged with its topic and outcome as the agent works. Your Intercom reports can then show which questions arrive most and how they end.
Replies follow the policies and tone set in up to 100 approved documents, inside your approval rules. Anything outside those rules goes to a teammate rather than a guessed answer.
Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

| Standard | 20–30 working days | $6,900 |
| Express | 15–25 working days | $7,950 |

Yes. It answers in the same Intercom conversation the customer opened, on the one channel chosen at intake. The customer sees the reply where they asked, and your team sees the whole exchange in Intercom, including the tags and any note added at handoff.
It reads the attributes included in the field mapping, such as plan, company or signup date, to give the right answer for that customer. For example, a question about a feature can be answered differently for a customer on a plan that does not include it.
The tags you list at intake, typically one for the topic and one for the outcome, such as resolved, handed over or waiting on customer. Tags outside the mapping are not added. Over time those tags show which questions it resolves and which still need people.
The build price, with the express and rush options, is shown in the price and delivery panels on this page, so the full figure is clear before you buy. Running costs of roughly $50 to $250 a month are billed to your own accounts, separate from your Intercom plan, and nothing runs through us.
It keeps answering what your approved knowledge covers. When a conversation needs a person outside your support hours, it tells the customer when the team will be back and leaves the conversation in your inbox with a summary note, ready for the first person on shift.
An Intercom app access token, plus 30 minutes of an admin's time to agree which conversations, contacts, tags and help center articles are read and updated. The token is used only within that mapping and is never sent by email. Your workspace settings stay as they are.
