AI Customer Support Agent for Freshdesk

Freshdesk tickets answered from your solution articles and canned responses, with ticket properties kept accurate as it works.

Your Freshdesk solution articles and canned responses already hold most of the answers your customers need, but agents still apply them one ticket at a time. This edition answers routine tickets from that content, checks each contact's history and keeps ticket status and properties accurate. Tickets it should not handle go to your team with a private note.

What it is

AI Customer Support Agent for Freshdesk connects to Freshdesk with an admin API key, answers routine tickets from your solution articles and canned responses, checks the contact's history, and updates ticket status and properties inside your playbook. Tickets it should not handle go to your team with a private note. You control every rule.

Why businesses buy it

Freshdesk teams often grow headcount just to keep up with tickets that already have a written answer. That is costly, and customers still wait. This edition applies your solution articles and canned responses for you, keeps properties tidy for reporting, and leaves the complex conversations to your agents with notes attached. The scope names the ticket types, properties and escalation rules before you order, so you know exactly what it answers alone, and it runs in your own Freshdesk account through a key you control.

Problems this solves

Agents paste the same canned responses into Freshdesk all day

The agent answers routine Freshdesk tickets from your solution articles and canned responses. It checks the contact's history first, so replies fit the customer rather than reading like a template.

Ticket status and properties drift out of date

Inside your playbook, the agent updates ticket status and agreed properties as it resolves each one. The documented field mapping shows exactly what it is allowed to change.

Tricky tickets reach agents with no background attached

Tickets the agent should not handle go to your team with a private note explaining what it found. Agents start from the contact history and the question, not from scratch.

A good fit if

Your Freshdesk solution articles cover most of what customers ask, yet agents still answer the same tickets by hand every day.
Your team relies on canned responses and wants them applied consistently instead of edited differently by each agent.
Ticket status, priority and type are often left wrong, which makes your Freshdesk reports hard to trust.
A Freshdesk admin can provide an API key with the admin role and give 30 minutes to agree the mapping.

Not the right fit if

You want suggested replies for agents to approve rather than replies sent directly. See AI Support Copilot for Freshdesk.
Your main problem is tickets landing with the wrong agent or group. See AI Ticket Routing for Freshdesk.
Your solution articles are thin or out of date and need writing first. See AI Support Knowledge Agent for Freshdesk.
Your team works in Zendesk instead of Freshdesk. See AI Customer Support Agent for Zendesk.

How it works

  1. Your Freshdesk admin agrees the field mapping on a 30-minute call: which ticket properties, contact fields and canned responses can be read or changed.
  2. Solution articles, FAQs and policies are loaded as its only knowledge, up to 100 documents, approved by your team.
  3. Incoming tickets on the chosen channel are matched to an article or canned response, with the contact's earlier tickets checked for context.
  4. Within up to six workflows it sets status, priority and type, adds a reply and resolves the ticket where your rules allow.
  5. Tickets outside its confidence or your rules are passed to your agents with a private note, following your escalation rules and support hours.
  6. Before launch, 50 scenarios built from your own Freshdesk tickets are run on test records and reported to you.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • A Freshdesk API key with the admin role.
  • A Freshdesk admin for a 30-minute setup call, and test tickets if available.
  • Your solution articles, FAQs and policies, plus the canned responses you want used.
  • Escalation rules and support hours, including who handles what.
  • Ten real tickets that show how customers ask common questions.
  • The approver for actions that need a person, and access to any second system.
  • One decision-maker for sign-off; keys are never sent by email.
  • A rough count of your current help articles, FAQs and saved replies, so we can check there is enough source content to answer from.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

  • Helps keep ticket properties accurate for reporting and SLAs.
  • Agents can pick up escalated tickets faster with the private note in place.
Tickets resolved by the agent
Filter Freshdesk tickets resolved by the agent's account. Compare weekly counts with your total ticket volume over the first two months.
Average resolution time
Use Freshdesk analytics to compare average resolution time for four weeks before launch with four weeks after.
SLA breaches
Count first-response SLA breaches in Freshdesk reports. Compare the month before launch with the month after.

Before you start: Export a month of Freshdesk ticket volume, resolution time and SLA breaches by ticket type before the build begins.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build price is paid once. Afterwards, roughly $50 to $250 a month for AI model usage and hosting is billed in your own accounts, in addition to your Freshdesk subscription. Any extra Freshdesk agent seats or plan changes are outside this build.

Build and testing usage is billed to your accounts the same way.

Custom requirements

Custom ticket fields beyond the agreed mapping, a second channel, a third system or a second Freshdesk portal need a Change Quote. Add a note at checkout to get it in writing. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.

Keep it running

After launch, monthly maintenance keeps the agent current as your help content changes. It covers monitoring, fixes, updates, a health report and change hours for things such as new solution articles, updated canned responses or revised escalation rules. It starts after the post-launch support period, bills monthly and can be cancelled any month. Unused hours do not roll over.

$345/mo (5% of the build price a month, includes 3 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

Does the Freshdesk agent answer from our solution articles only?

Yes. Its knowledge is the solution articles, FAQs and policies you approve, up to 100 documents. If a ticket asks something those do not cover, it does not guess; it passes the ticket to your team with a private note explaining what was asked.

Can it apply our Freshdesk canned responses?

Yes. Canned responses included in the field mapping can be used when a ticket matches, so customers get the wording your team already approved. Canned responses outside the mapping are not used, and you can keep editing them in Freshdesk as usual.

Which ticket properties will it change in Freshdesk?

Only those agreed in the mapping, usually status, priority and type, plus a reply and a private note. Custom fields can be included if listed at intake. Every change follows your playbook, and anything outside it is left for an agent.

What does AI Customer Support Agent for Freshdesk cost?

The build price, with the express and rush options, is shown in the price and delivery panels on this page, so you know the full figure before you buy. Running costs of roughly $50 to $250 a month are paid in your own accounts, on top of your Freshdesk plan, and we charge nothing per ticket.

What Freshdesk access is required?

An API key with the admin role and a Freshdesk admin for a 30-minute setup call. The key is used only for the tickets, contacts, canned responses and solution articles in the agreed mapping, and it is never shared by email.

Can we expand the Freshdesk knowledge later?

Yes. Updating or replacing articles within the 100-document limit fits inside the monthly change hours that come with maintenance. Going beyond that limit is handled by the Knowledge Base Expansion add-on, priced before any work starts, either bought with the build or added later through a Change Quote.
