AI Data Analyst Agent for Manufacturing

Order, distributor and supplier questions answered from your ERP data in plain language, with the export or query named.

Sales, operations and purchasing teams wait on ERP reports for answers they need today. This analyst answers plain-language questions about orders, distributors and suppliers from your ERP exports or API, document storage and spreadsheets. Each reply is a chart and a short summary with the source named, so anyone can check it. Access is read-only, and your ERP stays untouched.

What it is

AI Data Analyst Agent for Manufacturing answers plain-language questions about orders, distributors and suppliers from your ERP exports or API, document storage and spreadsheets. Sales, operations and purchasing staff get a chart and summary back, with the source named, instead of waiting for someone to run an ERP report.

Why businesses buy it

Manufacturers run on data spread across the ERP, supplier files and spreadsheets, and only a few people know how to pull a report. Questions about backlog, supplier lead times or distributor orders wait in a queue, and decisions slow down. This analyst lets the people who need the answer ask for it directly, with the source shown so it can be trusted. The written scope sets sources, metrics and checks against your history before you order.

Problems this solves

Sales staff wait for someone to run an ERP report

Sales, operations and purchasing staff ask in plain language and get a chart and summary back, with the source named. The agent reads your ERP exports or API through read-only access.

Supplier and distributor data sits in scattered spreadsheets

The agent connects up to three sources, such as ERP data, document storage and spreadsheets. Questions about suppliers and distributors are answered across all of them at once.

Order trends are reviewed too late to adjust purchasing

A recurring report or dashboard shows order trends on schedule, using agreed Manufacturing metric definitions. Up to five alerts can flag order changes that cross levels you set.

A good fit if

Order and supplier data sits in the ERP, specs and SOPs in shared folders, and answering a simple question means finding the one person who knows the report.
Sales asks which distributors ordered less this quarter, and the answer takes days because the ERP report needs rebuilding.
Purchasing wants supplier delivery performance without exporting purchase orders to a spreadsheet each month.
You want each figure traceable to the ERP export or query that produced it.

Not the right fit if

Staff need cited answers from specs, SOPs and manuals rather than figures. See AI Company Knowledge Hub for Manufacturing.
You only need recurring reports assembled from several sources on a schedule. See AI Report Automation for Manufacturing.
Leadership wants a regular briefing rather than answers on demand. See AI Executive Briefing for Manufacturing.
Supplier and customer documents need data extracted into the ERP. See AI Document Extraction for Manufacturing.

How it works

  1. Your ERP connects read-only through its API or scheduled exports, with document storage or Google Sheets as further sources, up to three in total.
  2. Product codes, customer and distributor names, and supplier lists are matched to your own definitions, such as what counts as a late delivery or an open order.
  3. A sales or purchasing lead asks a question, for example 'Which distributors' order volumes fell most against last quarter?', and receives a chart with a short summary.
  4. Answers needing a reference value, such as a product family from a spec sheet held in storage, cite the file used alongside the ERP figure.
  5. One recurring report, such as weekly open orders and late supplier deliveries, is scheduled, with up to five alerts on thresholds you set.
  6. Before go-live, answers are checked against three months of ERP history.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Read-only ERP access through its API, or a scheduled export to a location we can read.
  • Access to the document storage or sheets you want included.
  • Definitions of open orders, late deliveries, product families and customer groups.
  • At least three months of order and purchasing history.
  • The questions sales, operations and purchasing ask most, and who receives the weekly report.
  • One approver for the metric definitions.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Can cut the wait for routine ERP reports

  • Gives sales a clearer picture of distributor activity
ERP report requests
Count requests to whoever runs ERP reports each month. Compare before and after launch.
Time to answer order questions
Log answer times for a sample of questions before launch and repeat after.
Purchasing decisions made from alerts
Ask purchasing to note each order change acted on from an alert during the first months.

Before you start: List the ERP reports people request most and how long each takes. Note where supplier and distributor data is kept.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build costs $5,900, once. Day to day, expect roughly $20 to $150 a month in your own accounts for AI model usage and hosting or scheduling, depending on how often people ask questions and how often exports refresh.

ERP licenses are unaffected, and AI usage during build and testing is billed to you directly.

Custom requirements

Production machine data, a second ERP or more than 25 metrics falls outside this Scope Card. Add a note at checkout and a written Change Quote follows. Larger or bespoke projects go through the Custom AI request form instead.

Keep it running

Monthly maintenance covers monitoring, fixes, updates, a health report and change hours for things such as a new product family, supplier group or plant. The hours scale with your build, and bigger changes go through a Change Quote. Maintenance starts after the included support period and can be cancelled any month.

$295/mo (5% of the build price a month, includes 2 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

Does the Manufacturing data analyst need a live ERP API?

No. A read-only API is ideal, but scheduled exports to a location the agent can read work too. With exports, answers are as current as the latest file, and each answer states when that export was taken. The ERP counts as one of your three sources either way.

Can it report supplier delivery performance?

Yes, if purchase orders and receipt dates are in the connected ERP data. Using your definition of a late delivery, it can rank suppliers, compare periods and break results down by product family. Missing receipt dates are counted and reported, not filled in or estimated.

Can distributors or customers ask the manufacturing analyst questions?

Not as scoped. Answers go to one internal delivery channel, such as a Slack workspace, email list or web dashboard for your staff. Giving distributors their own access would be a separate channel and needs a Change Quote, so your commercial data stays with your team by default.

Does it read specs and SOP documents?

Only as a reference source for figures, such as matching a product code to its family from a spec sheet, and it names the file used. It does not answer how-to questions from SOPs. For cited answers from specs and procedures, AI Company Knowledge Hub for Manufacturing is the right build.

What does the Manufacturing analyst cost to run?

Roughly $20 to $150 a month in your own accounts for AI model usage and hosting or scheduling. Daily exports and many users asking questions sit toward the higher end. The build itself is a one-time payment, and monthly maintenance is optional.

When is the Manufacturing data analyst delivered?

The standard, Express and Rush delivery times are shown in the price panel before you order, and the clock starts after a verified intake. Agree the ERP access route with your IT team early, because intake is due within 72 hours of ordering and delays add three working days per day.

Ask the ERP a question without booking the report writer.
