AI Video Search

Your whole video library becomes searchable by what was said and shown, so anyone can find a moment in seconds.

Somewhere in your video library is the answer someone needs, but finding it means scrubbing through hours of footage. This build indexes every video in scope by what is said and what appears on screen, then gives your team one search box. Results jump straight to the exact moment, across every recording you connect, not one file at a time.

  • Search by what was said or shown, not file names
  • Results jump to the exact timestamp in each video
  • One search tool for your whole team

What it is

AI Video Search indexes your video library, both the spoken words and what appears on screen, so your team can search across every recording by topic and jump straight to the exact timestamp. It works across the videos you connect, not just one file at a time.

Why businesses buy it

Teams with big video libraries often record the same explanation twice because finding the original is too slow. Training, sales and support knowledge sits in recordings nobody can search, so it may as well not exist. This build makes that library useful again, letting anyone find the right moment in seconds. The Scope Card sets out the library, destination and search interface before you order, and the index runs in your own accounts, so what you pay for is clear and stays yours.

Problems this solves

Finding one moment in a video library means scrubbing through hours

The system indexes both what is said and what appears on screen. Your team searches by topic and jumps straight to the exact timestamp they need.

Questions already answered on video get asked again

Search runs across every video you connect, not one file at a time. Past training and meetings become a place staff can look before asking a colleague.

Slides and screen demos aren't searchable like spoken words

On-screen content is indexed alongside speech. A search can find the moment a chart, product name or screen appears, even if nobody said it aloud.

New staff don't know which old recordings matter

Topic search gives new starters a way into the library without knowing file names. They can find relevant segments and watch only the parts they need.

A good fit if

You already have a growing library of recorded video, and finding one moment means scrubbing through files by hand.
The same question, product mention or clip gets requested repeatedly, and someone has to go hunting for it each time.
Your videos live across a few connected places, such as Drive, Dropbox or a channel like YouTube or Vimeo.
You want to search by what was said or shown, not just by filename or upload date.

Not the right fit if

You only need captions on one video at a time, not a searchable index across many. See AI Captioning.
You need structured notes and action items pulled from a single recording, such as one meeting. See AI Video Knowledge Extraction, which is built for extraction rather than search across a library.
You need videos checked against a compliance or brand checklist before they publish, not made searchable. See AI Video QA.
You need search across more than one destination system at once. Add a note at checkout, or start from our Custom AI enquiry form for that scope.

How it works

  1. Your library is connected. Videos already sitting in Drive, Dropbox, YouTube or Vimeo are pointed at the one destination system we index.
  2. Every video is transcribed and visually tagged. Spoken words are timed against the audio, and the scenes and objects on screen are labeled, not just the audio track.
  3. A searchable index is built. Words spoken and what's shown are combined into one index, timestamped down to the moment they occur.
  4. A search interface is delivered. Your team types a phrase or topic and gets back the exact clips and timestamps across the whole connected library.
  5. Twenty-five sample searches are run and reviewed with you, checking that real questions return the right moments.
  6. The finished search tool is handed off, connected to your library and ready for your team to use.

What you provide within 72 hours

Your portal lists these the moment you order. Delivery starts the working day after everything is in and your access is checked.

  • Access to the video library you want indexed, such as your Drive folder, Dropbox account or channel.
  • A sense of how your team actually searches, so we can test with real phrases, not guesses.
  • Ten to twenty example queries you'd expect to type, and the clip each one should return.
  • Your brand terms and product names, so the index recognizes what your team calls things.
  • The name of the person who approves the search results before launch.
  • Admin access and API keys for every connected system, shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email.
  • Your business information (company basics, hours and brand voice), shared during intake, and one decision-maker who can approve outputs.
  • An API key for your own AI model account (for example OpenAI or Google Gemini), created for this build with a spending limit.
The 72-hour rule. Send everything on your checklist, including access, within 72 hours of ordering so your build starts on time.

What you receive at handover

  • A searchable index of the videos you connect, covering speech and on-screen content
  • Topic search that jumps to exact timestamps across your library
  • Workflow, prompt and guardrail configuration for indexing and search, connected to one destination system
  • A test report on sample results you reviewed and approved
  • An admin guide, a recorded handoff session and 30 days of post-launch support

Expected benefits and how to measure them

  • Staff can find the right moment without rewatching whole videos.
  • Recorded knowledge can be reused instead of explained again.
  • New starters can learn from the library on their own.
Time to find a clip
Time a set of typical lookups before launch, then repeat the same lookups after.
Searches per week
Use the search logs to see how often staff use the index.
Repeat how-to questions
Count repeat questions in your team chat or helpdesk, before and after launch.

Before you start: Write down ten typical things staff look for in recordings and time each lookup now. Note the size of the library you will connect.

These are things to track, not promised results. Outcomes depend on your data, your team and your market.

Running costs

The build price is one-time. Running it is paid in your own accounts, mostly AI indexing and search usage: roughly $20 to $150 a month, depending on how large your library is and how often it's searched. A library of a few hundred clips sits toward the lower end.

AI usage during the build and testing is also billed to your accounts, so you keep ownership of every provider relationship. Nothing runs through us.

Custom requirements

If you need search across more than one destination system, more than three output formats, or a second language, add a 'Custom requirements' note at checkout. You get a written Change Quote, and that work only starts once you accept it. Larger or bespoke projects use the Custom AI request form instead.

Keep it running

Monthly maintenance covers monitoring, fixes, updates, a monthly health report and change hours for reindexing as new video is added and tuning the search results. It starts after the thirty days of support, bills monthly, and can be cancelled any month.

$249/mo (the minimum fee, includes 2 change hours)

Optional. Starts after the post-launch support period. Cancel any month.

Questions about this product

How does AI Video Search find a moment inside a video?

It builds a combined index of what was said and what appears on screen, timestamped throughout each video. When your team searches a topic or phrase, it matches against that index and returns the exact clips and timestamps, rather than just the filenames or upload dates a normal file browser searches.

Which video platforms does AI Video Search connect to?

It typically connects to one destination such as Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn or Meta, agreed during intake. This build covers one destination system; if your library is spread across more than one, add a note at checkout for a Change Quote covering the extra connection.

How is AI Video Search different from AI Video Knowledge Extraction?

AI Video Knowledge Extraction reads one recording at a time and pulls out structured notes and action items. AI Video Search indexes an entire library, so your team can search across many videos at once by what was said or shown, and jump to the exact moment a topic comes up.

How much does AI Video Search cost to run each month?

Running it is paid directly to your own AI and indexing providers, roughly $20 to $150 a month depending on library size and search volume. We do not charge anything per search or per video ourselves. The one-time build price for each delivery speed is listed separately in the price and delivery panel on this page.

How long does it take to index our existing video library?

The build has a fixed delivery time for each speed, shown in the price and delivery panel on this page and counted from the day your intake is complete. Your existing library in scope is indexed as part of that build. Before launch, twenty-five sample searches are reviewed with you, followed by two rounds of changes.

What do I need to provide before AI Video Search starts?

Access to the video library you want indexed, ten to twenty example queries your team would actually type, and your brand and product terms so the index recognizes them. Account access is shared by adding our team as a user or creating a key you control, never by email, and one person needs to approve the results.

Can AI Video Search grow as we add more video?

Yes. New video added to your connected library gets reindexed as part of ongoing monthly maintenance. Its change hours scale with the build, and a large jump in new video goes through a Change Quote. Those hours also cover tuning the search results. Maintenance starts after post-launch support, bills monthly and can be cancelled any month.

Who owns the search index AI Video Search builds?

You do. The index and search tool run against your own connected library in your own accounts, so the results and infrastructure belong to you, not to us, and there is nothing to migrate if you ever change providers or platforms.

Stop scrubbing through footage to find one moment.

Order AI Video Search and it goes live on a fixed delivery date, making your video library searchable by what was said and shown.
